Go see Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's homes)
UVA campus - many historic buildings
There are several vineyards in and around there.
Beer Run and C&O's to eat

I think it is a very pretty college town and amazing in the Fall, but I prefer colder weather. I think it is fairly consistently voted as one of best places to live.
Good people, good size, low crime, great weather, close to other nice places/areas, great college town, great schools, good healthcare, etc.

Shenandoah National Park is very close and worth checking out. Great hiking, cycling, and driving. Very close to Charlottesville if you have a car with you.

Mas Tapas in a neighborhood called Belmont is a good restaurant. Beer Run is close to there too. Bluegrass Grill is the best for breakfast. The Corner near campus has some good bars and places to eat (Bodo's, Little John's, Boylan Heights are good for lunch). Fellini's #9 on the downtown mall is good also. If you want to go to a winery, check out King Family Vineyard (its close to Blue Mt. brewery) or Jefferson Vineyards (its close to Monticello).
Check out Miller's and Jefferson Theater on the downtown mall for music - there are a few others near there but I can't remember names

Just have to give credit where credit is due. A little past the midway point of my trip I've probably checked out 3/4s of the suggestions in this thread. Posting from blue mountain brewery. Bodo is the best bagel and I haven't been to a bar on the list that wasn't a good time. OT travel delivers yet again. Thanks.
