They fill the niche of keeping safe a child that refuses to hold an adult's hand while walking but also refuses to be carried.

Would you like to be brought up on a leash?

i remember my dad purposefully running to the next aisle at lowes while I wasn't looking cause he thought it was funny to see me freak out. I would've killed to have a leash for him when I was that age

If they are small enough to wear a leash then they are not allowed to refuse to be held or hold a hand. Be a parent.

I secretly judge everyone who uses these on their children

E-collar works better.

Children under 6 should not be allowed in restaurants. Period.

I once saw a leash on an 8 y/o with one on that one time I went to Wally World.
I will never use one on my kids. My 2.5 y/o keeps a hand on the stroller for my baby wherever we go. I tell him when he can run off, and he freezes on command. Kids follow directions if you allow them time to break the rules.

I hate looking at young children on leashes. It makes the parent look like a terrible person. Kids are not fricking animals. The parents are to fricking lazy to take time and teach their child how to behave.

They look like shitty parents. Shitty parents now can keep them alive.

They are awesome for the kid that will dart into traffic or wander off in a public place. But most kids won't need one. I've seen it used as a last resort, successfully.
It's probably the only reason my little brother made it out of childhood. He still doesn't give a shite though

Humiliating.
And the chicks in pic 1 and 2 have no business letting her child crawl around on those nasty floors.
I can see how they can be useful in crowded areas, such as pics 3 & 4, I guess. But it's still humiliating.
I grown up me would probably have some resentment towards my mom if I saw pictures of younger me on one of those things.

Seems beneficial to me, our son doesn't always want to hold your hand when you put him down in a crowded public place.
The alternatives are not allowing them to walk or putting in stroller which sucks for them. Or chasing him around redirecting him

I'm sure pedophiles dislike them.

I wish some of those parents would use a muzzle since they're not going to teach their kids how to behave in public.
