I’m not saying I believe the OP, but China isn’t worried about this year, the next 4 or 8. They do things with a 100+ year horizon. Because they are an authoritarian dictatorship. If they had nefarious motivation, a little short term pain isn’t going to stop them.
Whether it came from a bat, was accidentally spread through the lab, or intentionally released, frick China. They are solely to blame for each of those scenarios. Look into the history of meat markets and “alternative” farming. It’s disgusting and China not only allowed it, but encouraged it. China deserves so very harsh punishment for this. They’ve abused their “developing nation” status for far too long. Time to play with the big boy nations or truly go back to being a developing nation. The 2020 election is incredibly important. Joe would sell us all out in a heartbeat.

If China really wanted to inflict harm, they could have picked a way more virulent disease such as small pox or Ebola. The case fatality rates are astronomically higher.

When the leaks came out, I thought about this thread and how many people hated on me for my theory.

Weren’t they also battling a pig flu that was killing their hogs last year that would have put a squeeze on our pork prices, but because of tariffs they shunned our pork causing our pork prices to fall.
