The BR metro area has two Catholic schools competing for students one which is co-ed where the New Orleans metro area has six all boys and one co-ed competing for students.
Do the math...

Catholic doesnt carry the clout that Jesuit does....it's not even close

I went to Andrew Jackson. I had friends that went to Holy Cross, Brother Martin, and Hannan.

New Orleans doesn’t have an Ascension Parish with good public schools. Their version of that is too far away in St. Tammany.
St. Charles and Plaquemines Parishes apparently have good public schools and both are better than St. Tammany according to the linked list.

Correct.
They don’t. It’s not even close. Catholic only matters in a certain circle in Baton Rouge. Even at LSU, no one else gives a shite about if you graduated from Catholic, and that’s only a few blocks away. In fact, they were made fun of.

Jesuit, Brother Martin, Holy Cross, etc have a tone of kids from Jefferson Parish, St Bernard, etc. A middle class Catholic kid in Metry isn’t going to East Jeff.
Ascension, Livingston, Central, Zachary kids are more likely to go to public school. A middle class Catholic kid in Watson is probably going to Live Oak.

And just to compare Catholic and Jesuit
Jesuit had 25 national merit finalists
Catholic had 16
Rummel who some want to conpare Catholic with had zero….
No other Catholic school in the state had more than 2……
You can get insecure about it, but Catholic and Jesuit are in a completely different academic tier than everyone else

What's funny, my nephew, who was third in his class at Rummel, graduated early from LSU in Civil Engineering, use to tutor his Jesuit buddies in math...

But Catholic and Jesuit on average crush the other Catholic schools. That’s a fact. Doesn’t make them better humans

That's an opinion dude...
Jesuit also has classes to prepare kids for National Merit scholarships, Rummel doesn't...

I agree to that, I know some good people who went to Jesuit, and I know some complete scumbags who when there as well...
Hell, I know Drs who went to Riverdale, EJ, and Bonnabel...
Now, they graduated a few years back...

Their average is better because of the size of the school and being all boys. I think you get a better education at a smaller school with smaller classes, but it really depends on the student.

They had 19 semifinalists (still tops in state). Not sure where you got 25 finalists. Catholic had 17.
