Another question:
Louisiana says a home schooled child can participate in athletic programs at a PUBLIC school.
Louisiana says a home schooled child is prohibited from playing athletics at a PRIVATE school, based on a Louisiana Supreme Court decision.
Who enforces this law, if anybody?

Today you find out you are a a$$hole. I don’t think a B average is dumb at all - college HS gpa or LSU grad. gpa.

A lot of it also has to do with BR suburbs having nice public schools. Dutchtown, EA, Zachary, St. Amant, West Feliciana, Central, Denham, Walker etc. are all decent to good schools whereas in NOLA many of the kids from suburbs like the West Bank, St. Bernard and Luling/Destrehan still attend the NOLA Catholic schools.

So is the $17,000. a year tuition for high school the reason for the decline in private school enrollment???
Really it is the establishment of the Advanced Study Academies that has lowered the applications to the Catholic schools. Haynes and Patrick Taylor, for example. Not to be confused with charter schools.

Ex: I am fishing with a friend, and his friend (just met this guy for the first time on the boat), and the friend of my friend makes the comment,”…those Jesuit people love to deal with other Jesuit people.”
He sells insurance and was referring to certain business owners that have moved their policies the Jesuit kid because they also went to Jesuit.
Hope this helps.

Sorry, LSUPride, whatever figure you are quoting has nothing to do with Jesuit’s enrollment. Enrollment, by definition, is how many students are actually in school. Jesuit’s is 1368. Of course, as I pointed out, Jesuit does have an 8th grade. However, as I also pointed out, it is not 400 strong. Not even close. Go recalculate.
Wrong.

What is wrong? The Lhsaa calculates all boys/all girls schools differently for enrollment numbers. Jesuit doesn’t have 2000+ kids enrolled at the school.

Correct. Jesuit has a high school enrollment of 963. He is saying the other poster is wrong for calling me incorrect

A lot of kids go to Catholic Primary school and they go to non-Catholic HS. UHigh, Dunham, and Episcopal get the majority I reckon, though I know of some doing BR High for Magnet, and other public high schools, namely Dutchtown/Central/Denham-ZACHARY.
Is Silliman still around? Only wondering as there were several noticed who commuted from SF to Catholic Elem schools.

I understand they love their old high school, but that’s ridiculous with real money at stake to make decisions based on that

Clout would be non-Jesuit folks doing business with Jesuit boys solely on the basis of them being Jesuit boys - not because some fellow alums throw them some business.
Besides, there surely aren't any Jesuit grads doing anything as pedestrian as selling insurance.
