What shitty place are you working at that doesn’t offer health insurance or 401k?

Yikes man. You can get better than this even without a degree.

Our new grad, new hire CM grunt workers get better benefits than this.

we do about 3-5 mil in projects a year. I do the estimating, about 40% of the project management, and go to progress meeting etc..
Do you do public work? Does the 3-5 million cost 6 million?
You should treat the last 6 years as experience and move up to a larger commercial GC if that’s a market you like or Industrial. Or a larger market.

Yeah, it's time to find a job at a sub you will easily clear 20k more with full benefits.

Bruh you're being screwed. 6 years CM experience you should be making close to 6 figures if not more.
Posted on 10/8/19 at 6:28 pm to GoldDigger
OP, you should have left that job after year 2.
For comparison, I work for a large commercial GC in Houston (500mm+/year revenue)
I'm 2.5 years out currently making
75k base
Max of 15% bonus
400/month post tax truck allowance
4% 401k match
Plus benefits
And I cant hold a candle to what Carson or Rowbear make in industrial construction.
You need to GTFO yesterday.

I worked for Turner as a project engineer. You should have health benefits and between $75-100k 6 years in

If I see you this weekend tailgating I’ll explain but there are absolutely some. Most industrial contractors still pay OT even with a base salary. My company in particular pays straight time OT. Others like PCI pay time and a half.
ETA: I can name 2 TD posters that made it year one when you add everything up.
100% this. If a Gc is putting you on a t&m job and billing you to a client they dont gamble that much hiring a fresh grad at 35 of 40 an hour and seeing what you got. If you dont catch on or show potential they fire you and grab another body to fill your place. A buddy of mine started with cbi at 35 or 40 an hour with cbi a few years back. Fresh out of LSU. He worked a jobsite for almost 2 years working 72 and 84 hour weeks. When he was transferring to the office FBI realized they hadn't paid him the per diem that he was due and cut him a check for around 150 a day for the whole job. He had lived in my garage the whole time and had a huge down payment on a home.

You are underpaid. Renegotiate your pay or start looking.

Gah damn baw. I'm a hand and I make more than you by September. Need to get a raise or drag up
Posted on 10/8/19 at 6:47 pm to PipelineBaw
I just graduated and get that. You need to find a different job baw
Posted on 10/8/19 at 6:50 pm to GoldDigger
Move to Texas and make 85-100k w/ full benefits
Posted on 10/8/19 at 7:03 pm to rowbear1922
The $150k guys out of college are ones with family already connected or have the it factor.
Hook a brotha up sometime.

These threads kill me. I make $55k/year after 11 years of experience. Teachers.
