Why do they make it so hard? Whereas if you want to become a Baptist or Catholic you can just walk right in and get your religion card.

Because Judaism was always an ethnic religion. Christianity, once it was adopted by the Greco-Roman world became a universalist religion. Again, you can convert to some forms of Judaism even if your mother isn’t Jewish, but it is a much more involved process.

I’m Jewish. Just being Jewish doesn’t get you networking opportunities. You have to be part of the old money crowd or you’re a nobody.

No one make any sudden movements or look away!

Joking.

I think location is also important. You need to be in a major city for the network to take effect, like Long Island, NYC, LA, etc. Being in a random location like Louisiana won’t help.

Ivanka Trump converted to Orthodox Judaism in 2009... describing it as a "great life decision" that provides a "blueprint for family connectivity".

Yeah, that's what's important. NOT any "connectivity" with Jesus Christ and God the Father, a "life decision" lasting for all Eternity.

It’s not about connectivity with Jesus. I’m talking about business connections. Christianity doesn’t provide much of those despite being such a big group.

Don’t know, didn’t ask.

That was 30 years before I met her.

But apparently they won’t let me convert because my parents are not Jewish. Any way around this?

That you are converting because you feel Judaism is the best path to hearing God's word and you aren't converting for anyone else. Even though most conversions are because of marriage.
But you have to give up cheeseburgers and meat with dairy and pork and shellfish.
