you don't mention tonnage, but I'm assuming at least a 3 ton. For a Carrier 3 ton complete system, 4100 isn't bad.

I got the whole thing, AC and heat, for the downstairs 2,500 sqft for $4,500 a year ago. Brand was Amana.

If your house is 4900 sq. ft., you would need approx. 10 tons of a/c. The "normal" size unit in your pic may be a 5 ton, but the smaller unit is definitely not. It looks more like a 1-1.5 ton. Do you have a hard time keeping the upstairs portion of your house cool?
I don't deal with basements down here, so I may be speaking out of school on the tonnage to some degree. Down here, it's 1 ton of a/c per 500 sq. ft.

Also, I see that the 4100 is for the condenser(outside) only, that's pretty damn high.

Just paid 8k for a 5 ton Rudd , 17 seer , with a bunch of bells and whistles, installed, 10yr warranty . Good deal , bad deal ???? I’m happy , I was happy with the old one also, it was 14yrs old and a 6 seer I wanna say?????
