And you are already worried about CRNA school??

One thing at a time, just focus on regular nursing school right now.

I graduated from Baton Rouge General School of Nursing 15 years ago(nursing diploma). I'm currently now back in school (online) to get my BSN. No desire to go further than that though. Don't want to teach, don't want to be an NP or CRNA. I make decent money just working as a floor nurse out here in AZ(they pay much better than LA does).

You do realize you can still do many non bedside nursing jobs with a BSN??

I can always switch to case management or work for an insurance company when get I tired of working at the bedside or need a change

Also....the sick children and babies I care for in the hospital deserve to have experienced nurses at the bedside giving them the best care....not just new grads who view bedside nursing as merely a stepping stone job

I wouldn't let anyone with less than a BSN administer bedside care to my family.

Just because a nurse chooses to go to grad school and further their education, does not make them any less adequate to care for "the sick children and babies" than any other nurse.

I just meant that experience as a nurse goes far in the real world. Nursing school can't teach you everything. I've worked with many brand new grads that thought they were vastly superior to me just because they had their BSN and yet they end up running to us older nurses without BSNs for help when they encounter a situation they didn't learn about in school.

I think it's great if you want to move further along as a nurse, but not every nurse does and there is nothing wrong with that and they are not less of a nurse for it.
