No because that's exactly what I would like as well... Hurricane party where the power doesn't go out, similar to Isaac a few years back

Um. No. More like 100 miles west.
And it wouldn't have been any worse than Guatav in Baton Rouge.
Destroyed. Lol
Get back to mom's basement.

I feel you. This will probably be my 3rd storm in the Caribbean over the past 5 or 6 years. You just ride them out.
Isaac came rolling through the Dominican on us in 2012. A day and a half of down time in the room then back to the beach.

I heard that, but no worries, I will just battle the cups of Bushwhackers next week, hopefully....

Winds projected at 100mph on Sunday morning. Should come through Punta Cana on us sometime Wednesday. Should be fun.

gfs has its remnants just entering the gulf on Sunday.. if you can call them remnants.. that might be a little strong.
nothing else goes out that far really

I dont see how it survives the Caribbean with the dry air and shear, and the track it's looking at has Cuba as a major stumbling block too.
But always fun to dream

I have to be honest. I would not care if it just missed Punta Cana and not screw up my 11 day vacation.
The good thing about storms there, they go through very fast and they usually are not that strong. 100mph is strong though on that island
Posted on 8/18/15 at 4:12 pm to LanierSpots
Well good for you it looks like its going to be a very compact storm, just hope it passes you by.
