by my math it's for every priest pedo (likely with multiple victims) there are an average of 24 priests who aren't pedo's, it's not rare like you imply.

I don't think it breeds predators so much as it attracts them. Sadly, the church does nothing to discourage the crimes and in many cases protects the criminals preying those kids.

The first page says from 1950 to 2002, and the publication date and approval was all in 2004. I’m not trying to shite on the results of the study or anything but a more up to date study seems like it would be more relevant. It’s like pointing to crime rates in NOLA in 2002 to analyze murder rates now.
Also I’m not trying to sound like a dick and I fully recognize frick ups by the church in the past. I just don’t like that the cases are very high profile in the media and I think it gives good priests a bad name because of a select number of monsters.
