OK! I'M YELLING! It worked! It works!!!

I have two accounts and just lowered the total by $1,200.00 for the next 12 months! The OT comes through yet again! Thank you High C, for the tip! Merry Christmas to all, and to all a great day in Murica!

Are you sure about this? The rental of the receivers are $7 - $12 a month each, plus the HD service of $12 a month, plus the package (EXTRA, Ultimate, etc.) My bill was $40 a month just in rental fees (5 receivers - 2 DVRs, one standard and 2 others )

Just wanted to bump the thread with my experience.

I called the # posted in the OP. Been a direcTV customer since 2010, not under contract, and paying $125 a month for choice xtra package. Told the guy that I am looking to cancel and go wireless due to a money crunch. He said he could help with that, but he’ll look into my account to see if he could do anything to help without me canceling. I told him sure, go ahead but it’s hard to beat the cost of streaming. He put me on hold for a minute or two and came back and said that I qualify for a “Black Friday” deal that will lower my bill to $26.87 per month..... deal done! Thanks OP!!

PS Vue just jacked my monthly rate from $35 to $45 without notice and recently there’s been a problem with synchronization between the picture and sound. I’m about to test out their customer service.

You bastards are having an effect - I just got a price increase email from them.

Need to do my research and determine what I'll accept vs. cancel.

High C you the man! Was paying $170.00 a month. Next 12 months starting in January will be $75.00 including tax. Thats the extra package I believe whatever has like 250 plus channels and high speed internet...plus added NFL Sunday ticket for the rest of this season which would be 99 dollars plus 2018 a 282 dollar value for free! Hell yea

The deal is never dead. If you have DirecTV you should call at a minimum of twice a year to haggle.

I said this on here, it might have been in this thread, but my mom had Cox for years and some people from Direct TV went to her house and talked her into switching to DirecTV. She got into a 2 year contract where she would have to pay $400 if she wants to switch.

I tell her to call me before she lets some salespeople talk her into buying shite.. The first Sunday she had it, the weather was bad and she called me up because it was 30 mins before the Saints kicked off and her TV was messing up and bitching to me about DirecTV. The station ended up messing up for only a few minutes, before the game even came on, but having to sign a 2 year contract in which you have to pay $400 to get out of isn't the standard deal right?

Call and find out. We saved 80 per month for 12 months.

That is almost a grand in our pocket. Worth the 20 min on the phone.

The first number the Op used is no longer in service.

I called their regular number and they didn’t offer me jack and I’m actually currently not under contract.

Called the first week of December. Reduced bill from $210 to $134 a month.

She also upgraded 3 TV's from wired boxes to wireless boxes and put a new 4k box for 4k TV in family room(all old boxes were 3yrs old).

Also told us to be sure to call back in 11 months to re-up the discount before the 12 months special is over. No new contract to sign, current one still runs out in March...

Thanks to the OP...

I called the number the OP posted. A live person answers after the first ring or so , no automated bs to deal with. Just be persistent.
