But they claim to look like this
quote:

Sorry man, that does suck. I will say, if you ever wanted to buy some of those again for sentimental sake, most of those can be had fairly cheap if you buy them raw/not mint condition. You can find those Boggs, Sandberg, Clemons, Bonds for $10 all day long.

I've gotten a few back over the years, but the loss of all the Willie Mays cards suck big time. I also had all kinds of pennants, hats, jerseys, game programs, preseason magazines, etc from the mid to late 70's through 1989. Like kaboodles of stuff from NFL, College, MLB, NBA, and even USFL. On a personal note I also lost all my sports trophies from my first one at age 7 through age 17. Would love to have all that stuff back.
As a Packers fan, please or the love of God let the Vikings sign Geno Smith. He's actually worse than JJ McCarthy if that's possible.

I'll help you, he is not.

Colorado hasn't been a bastion of success the last 20+ years, but two 1-8 conference records in three years is not good
Pisses me off that my house burned down my senior year in 1989. My father had some good Willie Mays cards, and it wasn't even his good set. I had 1980 Rickey Henderson Topps rookie. 1983 Boggs and Gwynn rookies as well as Ryne Sandberg. Had many other rookies. Sucks bad.

With the way he is so generous it’s amazing he has any money left. Whether you like his schtick or not, dude is really a good guy.

^This and his schtick has actually grown on me. I like the guy's show and on Gameday when I watch it which I seldom do.
I've got 306,000 miles on my 2010 Nissan Frontier. I change the oil every 5,000-7,000 miles and have since I bought it.
I was 8. Now, I'm talking about the USSR game, not the Gold medal game. My father told me we really needed to watch the hockey game that night. Remember, it was played at 4 CST and played on ABC via tape delay at 7:30 CST. I think he knew we won and wanted us all to watch together. I remember pumping my fist in the air while lying on the couch in our old living room when Al Michaels said his famous "Do you believe in miracles? Yes!". Still get chills and tear up thinking about it. Watched the gold medal game on tape delay in prime time on Sunday night, but knew the result beforehand this time.
I posted in the oldest baseball player thread how cool it was for the 60 Pirates to have three living members still around in their 90's, and Maz would make a 4th if he made it to September. Well, Roy Face died a few weeks ago and now Maz. Rip former Bucco greats.

Roy Face

Interesting that he, Bob Skinner, Bill Mazeroski, and Vern Law all from the 1960 Pirates World Champion team are all still alive in their 90's(well, Maz will be if he makes to to September. The rest are mid 90's). Pretty cool

Well, I jinxed that I guess

Bobby Bowden called the 1980 Pitt team the best he ever coached against - four future NFL Hall of Famers, including two on the OL as well as Pro Bowlers like Mark May - and Marino couldn’t win a ring with them either.

That 1980 team was probably the best team in the nation, no offense Georgia, that year. I watched them four or five times that year and they were bad arse.

I feel like kids being kids in public places used to be more accepted. Now kids in public are expected to be quiet, not move around, and not disturb anyone. Obviously, I’m not talking about out of control kids, that’s different. Talking about kids playing outside at a restaurant, kids being noisy in a hotel or public transportation, things like that. I think the expectation for people‘s kids to not disturb. Anyone is one of the reasons why so many parents shove screens in their faces anytime they are in public. So what if a four year-old is being noisy in a restaurant, a four-year-old shouldn’t be able to sit quietly at a table for an hour, why do we expect that now?

I thought it was just the opposite. As a Gen Xer we were expected to walk the straight line in public, act like we had some sense, and shut the hell up, or risk an arse whipping of epic proportions. I raised my kids, now 28 and 24, the same way. I remember my son tried to act like a jackass at a restaurant one time. We left , and I beat his arse. Never happened again.I don't see that nowadays.

ALS and Alzheimer's can KMHA. Have watched friends and family suffer from both and it is so heartbreaking to watch them suffer.

Add Parkinson's especially at Stage 5 which my mother is at. Her mind is fine, but she has been bedridden since October, can't walk, and is pretty much trapped in her own body. It sucks tremendously for her. She's told me a few times over the last year she wished she would die. Although I'd hate to see my last living parent die I agreed. She's not really living.
Nope. You know everyone on here is 6'3 195 pounds with a shredded six pack and 4% body fat.

I watched all the guys play.. from a skill standpoint Favre does not belong

You must be blind or not know a damn thing about football then, because Favre single-handedly saved the Green Bay Packers franchise. The Lombardi days had ended a quarter century earlier, and that franchise had turned into pretty much the Cardinals. I don't think people realize how hopeless and shitty the Packers had become. They were a joke that no player wanted to play for. Before someone says "Reggie White", yeah he helped also, but he'd never came to Green Bay if Favre hadn't have been there. Reggie said so himself. The proud franchise that the Packers are today started because of Brett Favre.

And on a related but very obscure sports trivia point... her dad averaged about 28 per game for Miss State basketball back in the 50's - first team all-SEC for a couple of years as a shooting guard. He was drafted by the Celtics but never played for them. He eventually went to medical school and years later... became our family doctor in NW Alabama.
