I can't think of anything to add.
For us Disney is the destination and Universal a side trip.
Disney is a better experience. You're never wrong at disney. There are no extra charges to store items before riding a ride. The employees are better.
I enjoy both.
ETA. I really really really hate the locker system at Universal. I think it's cheap and very shitty.
A simple on ride bin system like Disney uses would be better.
But no everyone must find a locker and make sure their stuff fits. I always carry a back pack so it's like an extra 2-3 per ride to store it.

Universal doesn't have a jaws ride anymore either. Not in almost 20 years.

Hopefully Universal decides to start their third park back up soon. It will be unreal

Only the deluxe Universal hotels include the passes, not Cabana Bay for sure. And Disney doesn’t have fast passes currently due to Covid. The express passes are over a hundred bucks a person and would have been completely useless for us because there was hardly any wait. But we went during an off time and during the week. I hear the weekends are much busier and those passes are more a necessity.

The Star Wars area and the Rise of the Resistance at Disney's Hollywood Studios is legit. But the Harry Potter stuff is about as immersive you can get for a theme park

I really miss the Poseidon walkthrough and I hate that the Greek restaurant is closed because it’s probably the best theme park restaurant in North America IMO.
Mythos is an awesome theme park restaurant. It’s closed?? Still?? COVID?
I tend to always go to US and IoA in January/Feb months, so I’ve always wondered what it would be like to eat dinner at Mythos. I’ve always had it at lunch and the prices are good and food is top notch.

It was back in October.
Looks like it’s open now, the bastards.

I always skip the water rides at IOA unless it's over 90 degrees out. I could jump in a pool and be less wet than you get on those rides. Now the inner kid in me will say they are likely the two best water rides there are for people looking to get wet.
I also like Epcot a lot. I've gone there and not rode any rides and just spent time in the pavilions. The two bakeries are must eat places. France and Norway.

Cabana Bay is the best value for any on park hotel. Though I'm all in on airbnb now. Screw on property. I can get a nice four bedroom house for the price of a moderate or less. Plus I hate the busses so we uber between parks anyway.
If you travel look into airbnb. In November we had a nice house with a pool and gameroom for $97 a night.

Went to Universal. Stayed at the Hard Rock which was great because it’s a short walk and you don’t have to take a ferry. Being able to skip the lines is great.

Love them both, been multiple times to each.
Usually spend five days in Disney and two in Universal.

Disney parks are great for children
Universal for older kids
Busch Gardens in Tampa for the Roller Coasters
Aquatica is the best water park

For out-of-state people, if your child isn't old enough to get on a ride by themselves, you shouldn't take them with you if you want to have a good time. You are wasting a trip taking kids who need constant supervision. That will suck the fun out of the whole experience.
If you are a local, I can see taking your kids of any age to leisurely enjoy the environment, it's a wonderful experience just walking around the park. A local can deeply explore the park without worrying about enjoying the rides. Season passes are semi-affordable for residents, making it easy to make multiple trips to the park without worrying about missing out on something.
On my last visit, I felt sorry for those out-of-town stroller pushers, the look of regret on their faces was sad to see. It was easy to tell them apart from the locals.

Oh, big perk about Universal is significantly less strollers and scooters/wheelchairs. I saw maybe a dozen wheelarounds at Universal and every one of them was 1. Amputee, 2. Injured, or 3. Elderly.
Disney is a fricking hornet’s nest of those things. What annoyed me was a couple would be walking around with just one child, but have a double or triple stroller. Like what?

We took our kids when the oldest was old enough to get around on his own for several hours. We had the other two in those umbrella strollers. F having one of those double wide jobs.

Harry Potter area is fun. If you like that. Otherwise, Universal is kind of blah. Disney has the “feel” of fun in most rides. Very well run and maintained. Friends just went to Universal and had absolute disaster due to Covid restrictions. They had pre purchased tickets and could not get in due to essentially “overbooking” the park. Have to line up early each day to try and get in.
