I do because my Sears dishwasher only cleans unrinsed dishes if you set on pots and pans cycle which takes forever and costs a fortune because it pushes my usage and thus bill into tier 2.

Wait till your dishwasher gets clogged from all the food you left on the dishes

yep, lots of people stupidly think it does that but nope

water is no where near hot enough to sanitize anything, you may as well run it under the faucet and call it sanitized because thats all it does.

got news for all you uniformed people out there, the heating element in dishwashers only runs to create heat for drying the water off of dishes and it uses straight hot water out the pipes only for washing dishes, so no germs are dying and nothing is getting "sanitized" in that dishwasher

Wanna bet? Mine heats well beyond germ killing temps.

Maybe cheap ones like yours dont, not new ones

Rinsing dishes prior to the dishwasher is one of those incorrect things people do. Besides knocking off the large chunks of food you should NOT rinse dishes prior to putting them in a modern dishwasher it is counterproductive.

I don’t believe you. I choose to believe it’s a sanitation device.

Ahh, the modern comforts. Have lived without a dishwasher for a decade :-)
I don’t have your problem.

If you don't turn on your dishwasher daily, it's a good idea to rinse everything first just so there won't be any food particles rotting in there.

I wash dishes by hand brcause I’m a fricking grown man who doesn’t need a machine....

Most people who hand wash use significantly more water than those who do a rinse and wash in the dishwasher.

This is almost always b/c they leave the water on the entire time they are hand washing. Most faucets use about 2 gallons per minute when turned on full blast.

I’m building MY last house. Don’t care about resale because I’m not selling it. Besides it’s not that difficult to add one later. I’m just not lazy. Wash as you go. If I’m cooking, I’m also washing as I go

I've always a high temp dishwasher. I guess that requires a boiler.

NO!! I scrape any remaining food into the trash but do not rinse . If you have a good dishwasher it isn't necessary. If I'm gonna rinse, I might as well wash.

New house without a dishwasher?

next you're going to tell us it doesn't have a sink or bathtub?

Damn! Spending hundreds of thousands of dollars and not putting in a dishwasher. You'll regret it.
