What a damn shame.
At one time Baton Rouge supported two daily papers that did real journalism, the Morning Advocate and the State Times.
The Manship family sold the paper and now it isn't good for a crawfish boil because it has shrunk to such a small size.
I ended my subscription about ten years ago but the sports section is /was a gem.

My parents get several
Commercial appeal
Clarion ledger
A few local area newspapers as well.
Some of my favorite memories growing up were reading the newspaper before school every morning and then reading the Saturday morning paper with all the high school football scores

In my neighborhood, the Sadvocate paints an X on the road in front of the houses where the delivery person is to throw a paper. Seems they update the color and paint from time to time. I stay updated when I walk my dog.
