And someone needs to put a good white person small music venue bar down there that attracts a young LSU crowd.

Stun guns always getting confused with tasers. These idiots wouldn't know what to do with a taser.

Downtown is fricked. Seems like people pretty much gave up on going out there in 2016
I was surprised to hear that this is where most the college kids go, now that tigerland is a huge dump. Apparently Happy's has been raking it in.

I haven't been downtown in a long time other than an occasional dinner, but I always imagined the scene around the newer bars to be much "lighter".

It was Match Day for these med students. Several of them were outraged at being placed in certain campuses.

Good job by the police breaking them up.
If the city's leadership wants downtown to prosper after normal workday hours, they must be willing to come down on this feral behavior with a heavy hand. No self-respecting individual wants to spend their downtime and money around crap like this.

Under Mayor Broome and the ridiculous SJW culture that we live in, that will never happen. Downtown investors have to be wanting to piss on that woman.

I'm not optimistic, with the current regime. What a shame, if the likely scenario happens.

Is Club 1913 like a downtown Club Raggs?

Why won’t the cops arrest these fighting types before they go to the bars?
Uh...not sure how that would work. Not like you know who's going to start a fight before a decision gets made to go out

Ehh maybe, but more focused on the stage and not as cheesy. Have it tailored for the college crowd. You need young whitey with parents money spending money down there and developing a "trust" with going downtown, so when they graduate they still go.
Really wish they had gotten that tram from LSU to shuttle students back and forth from downtown safely and quickly. Would've been a boom for those bars eventually.

Gravy and Broome are the captains now. That isn't happening
Memphis isn't run by the right, if you weren't aware.
And they still knew they had to lock down Beale and reduce loitering. You can still loiter on Beale on weekends, if you pay a $5 fee and walk through a metal detector, which obviously the "loiterers" would never do.

I was at Happys a few weeks ago on a Friday night. It was a great time. grant it maybe a free $200 bar tab helped...Thanks 104.5

BRPD spokesperson says one of the women, 22-year-old Alexis Bowie, was issued a misdemeanor summons for "disturbing the peace by fistic encounter", but no other charges have been filed as of Monday afternoon
This is part of the problem. They should arrest and fine all of these fools.

Good to see that the downtown redevelopment program is still going well.
