case. "You should probably hit him with a random drug screen on Monday." Poor fricker went back to prison.

Some parents flip the frick out when they see their child crying during a painful procedure. I've had parents yank an IV needle out of my hands(and nearly stab with me with it) as I'm trying to start an IV on their child. Yes, some of the procedures hurt...but many times for the babies/toddlers....they are crying more because they have to be held down so they are still enough for us to be able to do the procedure.
Seriously, it takes special people to do this shite. Unless I absolutely had to and it was a life or death situation, I could imagine trying to start an IV in a child... especially if they are crying...

Females have small enough veins trying to hit. I could only imagine trying to register on a child.... no way I could be in the medical field.

That's what I am saying.. I seriously doubt they would do it because they want to. It just seems like attacking a nurse would only cause more stress to the situation... Which isn't in the best interest of the child.
He punched the MD. Who POSSIBLY still had a needle in his child's spine. At the point of me being touched by a parent, "take your kid and get the frick out!"
Then, as I mentioned, CPS report or call the cops outright for a child "welfare check".

I'm already reaching serious levels of burnout as a bedside nurse. Working as an ER nurse right now would just make me hate everyone in general

What
1. Happens all the time. ALL the time. Cops don't want to waste a half shift on paperwork over a drunk turd like in the OP. Now there will be a lot more paperwork.
2. That's common knowledge with drunks and psych patients.
3. I dont know what to tell you, seen it myself. I have personally told a guy what I have in quotes?
4. I PUSHED the drugs to intubate one of these guys? He just dropped too many f-bombs and kept trying to get up? I was not there for the c-bomb incident, but it happened.

I left. Had a desk job of almost 3 years. Hated it too and went back.
Free standing ERs are in AZ correct? Try those? Especially if they have a pedi specific one.

My hospital system is part of the AZ retirement system. Full pension plan. If I'm still working/living in AZ it's worth it to stay with that hospital system just for the pension plan alone. Plus...I'm sooooo not an ER nurse. On peds we are allowed to refuse one place to float to(we obviously don't float to adult areas being peds nurses)....Peds ED is my place I refuse to float to.

They're seeking validation for some fantasy they have about racial inequality. The kid has been rightly bashed in this thread, they seem to ignore it.

Nobody is taking him seriously. He has been referred to as a rich punk with learning disabilities. Couple people saying he needs his arse beat. How is that taking this lightly?

Such a punchable face. He will be out and drinking for the Ole Miss game. If mommy and daddy cash, this is a non-issue.

Best thing I've found so far is that his mom is a Child and Family Counselor.

Have you seen these kids in the past 6-8 years? Steroids!? I bet the average weight of those kids would be no more than 150.
Posted on 10/17/16 at 11:01 am to tigerbru17
no but back in the day they were all swole
Posted on 10/17/16 at 11:15 am to meauxjeaux2
When did we start taking drunk (but conscious) people to the ER instead of the slammer??
Posted on 10/17/16 at 11:44 am to meauxjeaux2
I've gotten stupid drunk many times in my life, especially as a college kid, but I never had to get my stomach pumped, and I never got so drunk that I beat up EMS workers.
