Our kid is exactly that age and we had cardiac worries when he was a kid. He had Kawasaki's disease, but fortunately there was no cardiac involvement. He had more echocardiograms in that time than I've had in my whole life. It was pretty scary.
He's on the MTB team here and it's something we still worry about from time to time.
Prayers to the family. It's got to be gut wrenching.

“It is not on any schedule in Louisiana and hasn't been suggested for my kid”
14 Dec 2021 - Edwards overrules 13-2 vote and adds COVID Vaccine
15 Dec 2021 - Landry sues to stop mandate.
18 May 22 - Edwards agrees to remove
Remained a requirement in Orleans Parish until 1 Aug 24, once HB46 went into effect.
Still “recommended”

Is this true? I was thinking that were no longer giving it to kids that young but that was really just an assumption on my part.
Yes. 3 babies in my family have been born in the past 2 yrs & parents have to watch like hawks & say no.

Why post this here?
For parents to remind their kids, "Hey, if you are over-heated, tell someone as soon as possible because you can die. Lets go over some symptoms so that you can recognize these symptoms and keep this from happening to you."

Covid vaccine has never been a requirement for Orleans parish schools
quote:
“During the COVID-19 health emergency, NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS), in coordination with 37 charter school operators, requested the OPH [Office of Public Health] to add COVID-19 immunizations to the immunization schedule for 86 public schools serving Orleans Parish students with the understanding that families would have the right to opt out. The OPH granted the request, effective Feb. 1, 2022,” said a spokesperson for Nola Public Schools

You think people are sneaking in to give babies shots?

Hmm! Why would someone need to “opt out” if it wasn’t added as a requirement to the schedule?

The majority of Orleans Parrish students were not vaccinated against Covid 19
Kinda a weird “requirement” when the majority of your students don’t have it right?

Multiple people attended the mom on Facebook for “vaccinating her kid and almost killing him”
Turns out the mom was very anti vax and had to come out and make a statement while being with her child in the actual hospital

“About 55% of all 5- to 17-year-olds in New Orleans have had at least one dose of the vaccine, according to city figures. Statewide the number is about 26%. That compares with 66% of 12- to 17-year-olds and 30% of 5- to 11-year-olds nationally, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

Kind of weird you don’t know what “majority” means

lsupride87 is a dumbass leftist who feels the need to white knight for all democrat policies, regardless if it’s wrong.

No doctor has even mentioned the covid vaccine for any of my kids.

Our pediatrician asked us our thoughts, we said no and that was that. I highly doubt they are mandated
