Your mom is supposed to be your best friend, your confidant.
No, she's not. She is supposed to be a mother. I've seen way too many girl-mom's who want to be a teenager again. Their daughter's run wild because the mother wants to be "cool".
Exactly. Glad someone said it better than I could have. I'll never forget the moment my father responded to something I said with...."I'm not your friend, I'm your father." It was a reality check.

I have to have this conversation every year with new teachers, especially women. I tell my students on the first day, "I will be friendly with you, but I'm not your friend."

I think she may have a shot at an insanity defense.
[Scene 68. Cut to Ascension Parish Courtroom]
Fancy Y'at Defense Attorney: Ya honor, my client is uh l'il bit nutzo. She couldn't help herself. We motion to have her chawges dismissed on dem grounds alone.
Judge: Counselor, has your client been evaluated by competent medical professionals to determine fitness to stand trial?
Fancy Y'at Defense Attorney: Oh, puhlease, ya honor! Have you seent da clothes she wears? Dat dress!? Fa gawds sakes! What more evidence ya need?! I'm sure her friends told her somethin', but she ain't listenin' to nobody.
DA: Objection, your honor!

Judge: Enough. I'll allow the motion to be heard. *slams gavel*

My sweet beloved little high pressure system, we are not. It has been 14,425 days since a grody used up married dude infidelity event has occurred in my facility.
This facility prides itself on such pristine records.

14,000 days seems like a lot, seems like that would be pretty grody and used at this point

I have no clue what’s going on. I usually catch the threads that are the cause of escalations like this right when they get removed and get the stop sign.

Yeah, my parents were parents. I never looked at them as "cool" or "friends". My dad said the same "I'm not your damn friend" thing to me, and I got it. I remember a couple of moms who tried to act "cool" and come to parties and we were all grossed out. I had zero respect for them even at 15-18 years old. My wife and I was the same way with our kids, as my parents were with me. We were the ADULTS.

If it happened at all is it really that pristine?

It’s cute you want to man up and defend civil liberties and admonish anonymous posters posts, but this really is the wrong place for it. It’s fun to read posts like yours and respond passive aggressively or with some witty one liners though.
I’d venture to guess maybe 2 posters on this thread actually give 2 fricks about any of these people actually involved. The fact is it’s a good thread with lots of meat to it and gives anonymous posters break from their daily lives and gives them chance to think “at least I’m not that fricked up.”
Anyways, I’m sure your prayers will work.

I went and saw that prison when my class went on a field trip. Some of the inmates were allowed to interact with us. The person in charge of that particular section of the jail asked if she could take the female students to a room that looked like a big gymnasium. The girls were allowed to go. The girls were in that room for over an hour and when they came out they looked like they were scared to death. I asked one girl what the talk was about. She told me that about fifteen inmates were allowed to speak to them as a group. She also said that if she was forced to live there, she would kill herself before she was sent there. She told me that she couldn't see how people could live in those conditions. Quite a few of the girls said that those inmates belonged there for the horrible crimes they did. One woman told the girls that she was there for life because she killed a man that was bothering her. She said that she broke into his house and pulled a gun on him. She said that two men who were friends of her helped her hold the man down. She forced the man to drink several glasses of Draino. The man was still alive when they left the house because they heard a car drive up. Another inmate told the girls what most of the women get when they are sent there. The girl told us that she would never look at a broom stick the same way that she did before she was sent there. t was impressed with the way the female inmates took the blame for the crimes they did. I went to that place one time and I never want to go there ever again. I just thought that St. Gabrial (sp} was just a prison. I really never thought about what actually goes on in there.

Still think it's wild that she hasn't had one friend or family member bail her out. Even the realtor guy who got arrested for child porn and beastiality had someone get him out.
