Attorneys, or maybe other cops should be added to that list.
I don't get out. I am afraid of being yelled at, or shot.

Good thing you quit. You might not have made it to retirement, especially if you are ok with someone exiting a vehicle.

It most definitely without a doubt in my mind did. Cops are usually type A's, and type A's dont like to lose or be shown up and the situation arose where the cop could essentially "win" and make this guy's life miserable for at least a day.

Attorneys
Like I said, clueless people. This case for example.

Nah, he would be good, he did not act in such a way that made people want to do things like that.
Besides, not too often that an attorney will kill the cop to keep his client out of jail.
Loser.

Yes and I am certain of it.
Despite all the motives everyone here has about the arresting officer that they have never met, I know him and he's nohing close to the picture most of these kids on this board want to paint him as. But then again, when bitching about cops it easy to generalize all 800k based on limited interactions with a few.

Don't you think this attorney could now make his life more miserable?

Minor thread hijack but I was looking at the attorney's Facebook page for DUI/"Seat belt" check locations. I haven't lived in BR in 30 years so I'm sorry if I'm a bit clueless but I noticed almost no DUI/"seat belt" check locations north of Florida Blvd. Is is there are no/few checks in that area or is it no one is reporting them to the attorney's Facebook page?

Ahhh, I get it, your his buddy.
Great guy, although he chose to deprive an attorney of his liberty instead of issuing a summons.
Sounds like a great human being that enjoys the power he has been given.

Where did I say I was OK with somebody exiting the vehicle? I agree that an officer is supposed to maintain control of the scene, esp on the side of a busy road. There are a myriad of things that could go wrong and get somebody hurt if it gets out of hand.
That being said...
I can tell you in this case, if I was the arresting cop, once I saw who was in the passenger seat I'm calling for backup/supervisor (given the history between them) and removing myself from the scene so nobody could question my objectivity of what went down.
ETA: typos

Ok, so all cops are not idiots.
Thanks for reminding me.

Also, in response to your insinuating that I might have been killed/hurt before retirement, its true, I may have. However, the difference between myself and 90% (estimated) of other cops is that I accepted the fact that I could be killed or injured. I knew it, and I believed that I would rather be shot/stabbed/hurt/killed than to violate the very rights that I spent the better part of my life defending.

They have them on Greenwell Springs near N. Sherwood very regularly.

How in the hell does one perform SFST (field sobreiety)with the person sitting in their vehicle?

Why was the cop doing a sobriety test on a sober person? Don't they always cite "blurry eyes and slurred speech" as a reason to begin a test? For someone with 150+ DWI arrests a year you'd think he'd know...
