My uncle said he ate it as a kid (he is 70 now).
I thought it was weird then - as a child and now, and as an adult now, I think it is fricking stupid.
That being said...
poison ivy doesn't really seem to bother me. Maybe it was mixed in with some "mixed greens."

I’ve never been allergic to it.Used to make a few dollars when I was a kid cleaning it out of neighbors yards and off their fences.
