they were involved in a large-scale marijuana distribution operation
Along with about half the population of any inner city area.
They probably used the marijuana charges just so they could get the ball rolling on search warrants, etc.
When they found the guns, the charges went up quickly.

Didn’t Murphy Paul say there weren’t any gangs active in Baton Rouge.
“Nothing to see here “.
He said it at one of the press conferences they held to tell us how hard they were working to solve the murder of Allie Rice.
About ten years ago, my wife had to do a PD on gangs at Woodlawn High. This was when they were still shopping kids from North Baton Rouge due to Capitol and Glen Oaks closures. The district and EBRSO wanted the teachers to keep an eye out for gang signs drawn in notebooks, desks, etc

During the press conference after the drive buy in front of J Alexander's at the mall he admitted there were nine "groups" operating in the area and hid behind the technicality that I guess gangs have leadership and a well defined identity and I guess all we have are a bunch of idiots with semi automatic weapons who make youtube videos and think they're rappers.

Seems like they have plenty of people in custody right now that they can question or compare DNA against for Allie Rice's murder.

Did any of them have anything to do with Allie Rice? Do you think the cops even tried to connect those dots?

So they don’t have their gang meetings in doors and sit down like gentlemen and discuss on going business moves and how to expand their territory?

Lest we forget YoungBoy NBA was tied to that somehow. He has songs with over a billion listens on Spotify and was pardoned by Donald J Trump.
So I guess maybe some of them can rap, right?
