Northern Virginia, 15 years ago, took a cab to a bar with two friends. On the way back, they waved the cab driver over to check all our "sobriety." We're in a fricking cab, dude (not an Uber, a bright yellow MFer with a sign on top).

I think you underestimate how desperately government wants to "keep you safe."

Equal parts revenue grab and appeasing the PTA ladies? Probably.

What are you talking about Louisiana has the best interstate system in the US. The La.DOTD has the highest budget of almost every state in the US.

Best? No.

Top 10...easily. People judge all of Texas by near houston.

I'd be OK with judgy if they used DFW roads, particularly the DNT as an example of not how to enable traffic flow.

The contract goes to the lowest bidder. Any more questions?

Why did I think that driving 70MPH on I-40 in Arizona and New Mexico was going to completely destroy my rental car?

Why were you going under the speed limit?

The speed limit on interstates is 75 mph in New Mexico and Texas. It doesn't drop to 70 until you get to Louisiana. Not sure why that is either.

Don’t know about this particular narcotics checkpoint, even though I live in monroe, but I know how they work the one around Tallulah. They set up at an exit that people normally wouldn’t get off unless you are local. In Tallulah, it’s the Richmond exit. There is no reason to exit there unless you are a local resident. So if an out of state vehicle exits, they will most likely pull over said vehicle. You’d be amazed at how many vehicles actually exit to avoid the fake one on the interstate. My parents use to live there and I’d get off the exit and just breeze through it. Many moons ago, I had a friend that was leaving lake Bruin and going back to Ole Miss. He had pot on him. He got on interstate at Tallulah and the sign was out. He pulled off the exit. Had out of state plates and they pulled him over. They asked him why he exited and he told them he was going to visit me at my parents house. They let him go without searching him.

The correct way to answer that question is "none of your fricking business".

Why is even I-20 so shitty in just Louisiana and Mississippi and nice everywhere else?

I’m pretty sure I’ve been on dirt roads that were flatter, wider and smoother than the stretch on I-20 in Bossier between Benton Road and Industrial.
