Or you could give your kid a leg up on early adulthood and buy them something that will last until they’re 25

She's on her knees now and I won't say a word.

Correct. Man or woman.
Or do you think there’s a spectrum of genders?

There are plenty of driveable cars for $2700.
For 2700 you’re mostly looking at an American made piece of shite pushing 200k miles.
I just looked at the autotrader for within 200 miles of my zip. The best option was a honda minivan with 230k miles.

You're literally doing the exact same thing.

I always lol at the OT and money board “common sense” to just buy a beater for like 5 or 6 grand because there’s no use in spending on a car etc etc.
The “beater” they always envision costs like 2 or 3 times what they think it does. The used car market is dog shite.

Page one, Salmon’s first post....

And no, I'm not going to make a 16 year old pay for a vehicle. That's dumb.
Sounds rather judgmental. And I dare say he views doing it as wrong.

Darth quit upvoting your own post and take a lap. Live to fight another day.

Guess I was one lucky mofo. My parents bought my first four vehicles.
And paid my insurance until my mid-20s.

Sounds rather judgmental.
Certainly not on the same level as “you’re setting up your kid to fail”

The difference being that I think there are better and/or easier ways to teach kids the values you want to teach by making them pay for their own vehicle, but we are all still teaching them the same values
You think by me buying the vehicle for them, that I’m unable to teach the same values
Which, to be honest, is fricking retarded

This thread is a mess.
I bought my own cars and I am a success.
I bought her cars and she is a success.
People, and kids, are different.

No, but I'm almost certain I know some of the family.

The last few car threads have been all over the place. Time for a automotive board? j/k
