They do.... and people see it as totally rational and necessary.

There have been 2 CFAs in my area with that setup in my area for years.

Does Esplanade mall still have a Chick-fil-a in it?

I'm guessing the same operator got the free standing location, otherwise I bet that operator in the mall is pissssed
Yea they generally have rules on how close a store can be to another. They made a special exception for the second one they put on 280 in Bham because the operator had some connections. The manager of the original one was not very happy.

I wish they would do this in Shreveport. The youree drive location stayed packed and so does the north Bossier.
The rumor for a while was that one would open at the new Camp Forbing (big new Kroger on Ellerbe). I heard from a reliable source close to the franchise op that it would never happen, due to not being enough lunch time traffic.... but that area stays crowded during the work day between moms and kids and people who work in south shreveport. Plus all the stonewall crowd that shops there.

There are two Chick-fil-A restaurants (one outside the mall, one inside) at a mall in Flrence, SC. Has been like that for as long as I can remember.

Not anymore. One was drive through only. It's been gone for a couple of years now. They need another one though. Traffic gets crazy, even though it only takes about 5 mins to get through the line.

Id like to see them hit all 4 corners of a major intersection. Just fricking OWN a fast food market.

Sonic did this in Branson (well actually Hollister) MO several years back. They had built a new restaraunt in a strip mall and had been up and running for almost 2 years when Lowes moved in to the lot behind them, well somehow it turned out that Lowes actually bought the land that the Sonic was one, instead of the land they had purchased. So a crew came in and built an entirely new Sonic I shite you not 50 feet from the existing location, then once it was online they torn down the other Sonic which had been in place not more than 2 years at that point. One of the craziest things I ever saw.

I understand the need for this but I don’t understand why so many people are willing to wait in those lines for the food? It’s not bad food it’s good food but no fast food is that damn good where I’d block traffic to get it.

If you go to Laplace, there is a McDonalds directly in front of a Wal Mart that has a McDonalds inside of it.

Pretty sure they already did this in Gainseville years ago.

I have only seen one Chick-fil-A close down before. Every other location they could build one right next to the other.
