It’s just an explorer sport trac which was a great vehicle. Don’t know why they discontinued that one but this is essentially that but they can call it a truck and not an SUV

I was looking at a Ranger but decided to order a Colorado instead. It’s been over 3 months of waiting.

This is a problem for all mid size truck manufacturers. I have the Canyon AT4 and the power distribution pisses me off daily.

Is it turbo lag?

or is it the fact that it always tries to get into 15th gear as quick as possible, and when you mash the gas it has to pick up its bags and go hunting for 2nd.

I like the midsized trucks (especially driving a 1 ton) but would only buy one if I lived in the city. You could probably find an ok deal on a Colorado/canyon diesel

Good thinking. Always ask a guy before considering a truck.

It’s this. It’s a great truck otherwise and I actually prefer it to my 2018 Sierra.

I was looking at the Ranger vs Tacoma and I chose Tacoma.

Ranger interior was more comfortable and I came from a Ford sedan so I know and like sync. Stereo is light years better. I personally think the Ranger has way more pickup too.

But there were two things specifically against the Ranger I really didn’t like.
It is bouncy as hell and you can really notice the road inconsistencies. The other one I didn’t want to deal with was a 4 cylinder turbo. That seems like a problem in the future

I do really, really like the Taco. Atyling IMO is better. It is rock solid and it’s reputation for longevity is really inmatched. The six speed transmission isn’t the best, but it doesn’t piss me off like the incessant bouncing did in the Ranger.

Funny how one thing just sets you off and sours a whole package.

Find an older model made by Mazda(1994-2011). The Japanese built ones were the best.

If open to waiting,Look into the 2021 Mazda BT-50 Pickup Truck. It may be built in Huntsville, AL in 2022 or 2023.

Mazda shares the 2021 BT-50 platform with the Isuzu D-Max truck

I love the hell out of mine. Of course it’s a 2006 5-speed so what’s not to like. I have no idea about the new ones.

It lagged dropping gears going uphill, but I think it’s just the four cylinder motor. It felt like the power would come in spurts.

I have a 2019, no problems, good gas mileage (25) city, hauls arse when I need to accelerate quickly. I had no idea of it’s quick acceleration when I bought it.
