Don’t you live in Atlanta?

Everything is 45 minutes away in Dallas, regardless of how close it actually is

There has been a few shootings/murders in Deep Ellum this year. There are definitely other areas of DFW I'd spend my time in.
Someone was also shot right by American Airlines Center last week. Deep Ellum is fine if it is still light outside. You def want to get out of there once it gets dark though.
OP if you are going to Terry Blacks, Backyard is a good spot that is close. Or as one of the other posters said, you can go to Happiest Hour by American Airlines Center. Hero (right by the entrance to AAC) also has a ton of TVs to watch games. Usually dead though unless there is a Mavs/Stars game.

True. As much as I hate to agree with Mango, Cosm is a 30-40 min drive from AAC. It's in The Colonies not Dallas

Deep Ellum ain't what it used to be

This place confuses me. Did it peak on the gentrification swing and start going back down? Anyway from what I’ve seen, I wouldn’t walk around there after night. I’ve thought about ubering to the front door of that concert hall. The deep ellum videos I see on social media kinda scare me.
Am I gonna get shot being there at 10am on a Saturday? We will be gone by 3.

Don’t have a car. That’s why I need places close to TB. We are walking everywhere. Storing our luggage nearby with Bounce.
We will hit American Airlines on our way out of town around 3 when we head to Ft Worth to check into our hotel.

Backyard is fine but I’d personally uber over to victory park or lower Greenville and then uber back for your luggage on your way out. It’ll cost you $20 and 15 minutes

Only problem is the no kings protest is that day in downtown Dallas and I have a feeling we are going to get swamped. Maybe it turns out to be lightly attended but don’t want to get stuck potentially having to uber back and forth a bunch with all of that bullshite going on.

Deep Ellum is OK. I saw a band at Trees.last.week.and then walked a friend to her car.and walked back to Main St to get my Uber. We walked around. Before the show when.it was still daylight and it was fine. Bars to watch the game are Dots Hophouse and Backyard. Dodies on lower.Greenville,.about.10.minutes away,.is an Lsu.bar.

If you are in the Deep Ellum area, Backyard & Palimino Ranch(formerly Bottled Blonde) are your best bets for sports during the day. Deep Ellum has a ton of great bars & restaurants but the cultcha & construction have taken a huge toll on the area in the last few years. Stay away from there at night.
Lots of places in Harwood/Victory Park area like Happiest Hour & Christie’s/Dodies on Greenville.
Nodding Donkey & Katy Trail Ice House in Uptown are great but you would need to get there early. Very early.

Husband is hunting and our official watch group is out this weekend so I’ll probably head somewhere around lunchtime. Almost certainly north of 121 bc I don’t want that drive home on the tollway after drinking.
