You might feel fine but sometimes you actually impaired without knowing it.

Fortunately I have a built-in DD as my wife doesn't drink. Well, if she does she has one drink and that's a rare event.
I do applaud you for taking responsibility for your actions. Most, if not all of us have been in that situation and made the wrong choice and were just lucky enough to get away with it.

If you pulled over your own mother and she were buzzed, would you take her to jail? Or brother? Or father?

considering I own the place.. I am pretty confident that I will not be firing myself

Well I won Talladega on my Xbox using the 1st person view from inside the car. Pretty sure that's more difficult than staying between a couple yellow lines that you're paying extra attention to cause you don't wanna get pulled over. I'm not advocating driving drunk but a couple beers in this guy was probably no threat to anyone. I hardly even drink anymore and certainly won't drive cause it's not worth it but I also won't sit here and look down on the guy and act like just cause a couple beers might make a 110 lb girl drunk that ole baw was driving around hammered after lunch.

Yes. My family and friends know there mistakes aren’t worth my career and retirement.

Id rather be on the road with a dude driving on a couple beers than you assholes speeding around everywhere halfway paying attention and halfway looking at your laptops. You can't sit here and tell me that's safe.
Eta: not saying you do this but I see it all the time. My favorite was when a couple cops blew by me 20 mph over the limit so I sped up and just tagged along behind them and one of them waved me to pull over at a red light and asked why I was speeding.

I find it funny when people get all high and mighty in these threads.
I'm willing to bet many who are saying "you drank 4 beers! You endangered everyone on the road!!" Routinely text and drive or something of the sort, which is equally as dangerous on the road.
At the end of the day you just made an ill advised decision by driving, knowing a DUI was possible.

Well at least that's the right answer. My answer is hell no. Which is why I would never go back to LE. Too many cops actually think like me and are still cops. Not a good thing.

unless your job depends on your driving record being clear, how many jobs are going to realistically fire someone for getting a dui?
Posted on 12/10/17 at 1:43 pm to Deactived
how would most jobs even find out?
Posted on 12/10/17 at 1:44 pm to VABuckeye
Well since the laws or pretty fricked up and the Louisiana Impaired Physician Nazis have decided that a DUI makes you're an impaired physician and puts you in the program I uber everywhere if I drink anything. Couple of $100 a month but is worth it. I have a friend who stopped at a bar after her ER shift had 1 beer. But BRs finest had a check point and she blew. Her next shift was 8 days away. But Board put her in the program.

Well we shouldn’t be looking at the lap top other then when you’re parked.

they wouldnt.
only way thats coming to light for the most part is if youre going to a new job.
only jobs where your driving record is vital to your job will know, or at least require you to tell them

Yeah I've had nurse friends have to basically go into rehab because of a DUI so they could keep their nursing license.

If you hold a professional license of any type, that's often in jeopardy if convicted of a DUI.
If you're angling for a promotion to the fry station, not so much.

Newspaper? Also, back to that licensure thing, you're usually required to tattle on yourself and notify them. Failing to do so and getting caught trying to hide a major frickup is a sure way to make sure that your disciplinary program becomes a full revocation of a license.
