Be a born again evangelist, sell snake oil, preach a little gospel. Bottom line, I don't care what age you exit jail. If it is for murder or a major sex offense, you're not going to have many opportunities. I kicked a housecleaning tech out when I learned that not only had he done time for aggravated incest, but was out of his home parish against his Parole Agent's conditions. I did not want that type of person in my house, much less my neighborhood of which several households have young children. That might have not been fair, but some choices you make in life have lasting consequences.
