I had a girl in her 40's I was seeing in an intimate relationship for about four months. The last time she came down for the weekend, my dog was acting very strange towards her, and it never changed. She got up early the next morning to leave to go back to her town to work. I was still asleep. When I got up I found out the bitch stole over a third of my food pantry. Thank God, that is all it was. That was my last overnight guest for awhile. I got to where I would just as soon shack up in a neutral location for a night. It's worth the money and extra trouble. I screen folks a hell of a lot stronger these days, ....... and I also listen to the dog's input on the subject.

That might have not been fair, but some choices you make in life have lasting consequences.

Someone who was in jail for aggravated incest... That is a behavior I am not sure you just get rid of... It definitely doesn't get fixed when they are in jail. You have not been fair if you kept him around with the risk he could do something to a kid in the neighborhood. I don't blame you.

Agree. Can't imagine the pain her family is currently experiencing. Burying one of your own children is something you hope you never live to do.

I work forensics in the criminal justice system as the liaison between the mental health and court systems. In my years of experience, I have never seen a sex offender fixed. It's there and it's not going away.

In my particular case, I have my kids on their own. It is neat to watch my neighbors with their kids. Their innocence is going to end only too soon as it is. They all treat me like a grandparent, which is neat. That said, I think everyone around knows how I would respond if some malicious a-hole laid a hand on one of their kids. Again, they should be allowed a normal childhood. Unfortunately, so many aren't.

Going back to this case, while I might not have approved of this girl's behavior, it sure as hell didn't justify her being killed.

I imagine the boyfriend had a not so pleasant conversation with her dad.

I can only imagine what mindframe I would be in.

Wondering if this girl ever went to college or was working a regular job along with the "massage therapist in training" gig??

I read that she was currently a student at Delgado CC.. Attended SLU before that and before SLU she attended LSU.

Only time in my 50+ years I ever had that shite happen. She was good in bed, but bad in some other places. Devout Baptist girl at that. When I confronted her, she gave some bullshite excuse, and I simply told her she was not welcome back. Changed the locks to the house the same day.

Again, the dog sensed something was about to happen because in the middle of the night the dog was up in the bed threatening to rip her a new a-hole. Should have listened to the damned dog more.

I still enjoy dating, etc. But I have not let anyone stay overnight in my house after that. When you think about it, you are at your most vulnerable when you are asleep. Somebody could really do some bad shite if they wanted to.

Crazy thing, after a couple of weeks of dating she was already thinking wedding, which I quickly nixed, knowing that she had already been married five times and her last husband literally blew his fricking brains out. Not good.

Any way, enough of the side road.

I hate this kid got killed and really feel for her parents.

Don't feel like going thru 25+ pages

Did the boyfriend know about her doing these sort of things or is he just now finding out?

Someone would have to keep me from taking the boyfriend's hide as a down payment on retribution.

As a father having a daughter, I would be shattered at the loss, pissed at the boyfriend, at some point pissed or at least very saddened over my daughter's behavior, and want to throw everything including the kitchen sink at her killer.

One of the things I learned with raising kids, you can do your best to teach them right from wrong and attempt to instill values in them. However, ultimately it is still their choice as to whether or not to accept your teachings and values. That part you have no control over once they are out of the house. You just keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Flip side, these parents will at some point needlessly beat themselves up emotionally wondering where they went wrong, when in fact it probably had nothing to do with them (refer to comment above). Those folks are going to go through emotional hell for a long time, perhaps the remainder of their lives. Time might make things fade a little, but it never totally goes away.

It's fricking mind boggling to me that a man that loves his significant other could put them out on the street to do such awful things. I just don't get it. This shite is hard for me to wrap my head around.

Just easier to do hotel for a long weekend, than to be watching for other things potentially walking. Some of us have accumulated some things in life that took us a lot of work to get them.

If you have lived with her for any time, I would think it would be hard to imagine his not knowing.

Then again, I have been surprised at the naivety of some, but I would put any money on it in this instance.

I know I couldn't do that and live with myself.

However, there are simply some very fricked up people in this world.

I was in college when the Son of Sam thing happened. The jury never bought his side of the story. Later on while being interviewed by a forensic specialist, Berkowitz admitted he made all that shite up in an attempt to try to get of in an insanity plea.
