Anything specialized is good as long as the market isn't saturated.

I doubt you'd have trouble finding work with that degree.

I have to admit, working with lasers and holograms sounds badass. I have no clue where one would work with that degree, but I know that I never had enough discipline to attempt it.

If you can specialize in anything technical you'll be valuable.

General engineering hands are a dime a dozen but experts in anything are few and far between.

I'd say: ME/ChE, EE/CompE, CE (minimal surveying route), BE (effort is more important here- most papers/projects), PETE, IE, CE (heavy surveying route)

My roommate made a B in ME fluids and thermo and would ask shite in our apartment like "Is that Martin Luther King Jr.?" when Muhammad Ali was on the TV and "how often are supposed to change the coffee filter and grinds?" So you'll understand why I have a hard time believing that ME fluids was so much harder that it's not even debatable.

BE is hard as frick to get a job in... I've been searching for a month and haven't even been contacted. I need my masters, but I wanted to get a job first and take night classes.

That kind of stuff is irrelevant.

It's very easy to find people who have masters degrees in shite we can't even start to wrap our head around who can't tell you how to wash dishes.

CSB

one of my guys was born in Vietnam and lived there until he was 17. He graduated HS there and then his family got their immigration papers. They were moved to Abbeville La. His HS transcript was incomplete according to US Standards so he enrolled at a public HS. He did not speak English at all

He somehow finished the one year of HS learning spot English from watching TV

He enrolled at ULL and majored in Business. Still only speaking and reading marginal English. 5 semesters in he realizes that he wants to change to a Engineering. He doesn't know which one so ULL puts him in Chem E because there was another Vietnamese kid he knew in Chem E

He graduated from ULL with Honors in Chem E while learning in a language he didn't know. Try to wrap your head around that

Could any of you have finished with an engineering degree while being taught in a language that you are learning as well? Like getting a PETE Degree while learning In Chinese

His explanation was he just worked his arse off.

He was also the only engineer I know who has failed the FE if you would like more comparable evidence. I know CE's that said they didn't study and passed it easily the first time.
