I guarantee I know you or at least your family. I graduated in 90' and left for Baton Rouge. Stayed in BR until 2002 when I took a job transfer to Beaumont

I HIGHLY doubt Bayou Conway got 22.25". Every reading for miles around was under 5".
There has been very little rain since those readings.
And I want to know when they moved Iowa.

How long is it going to take for the flood waters to drain into the local depositories and ultimately the gulf?
Houston especially?
Does anyone remember how long it took for BR flood waters to go away?

Parts of Ascension had water for a week... others, months
really just depends on the area

I believe Bluff Rd at 74 was closed for 2 weeks post flood, maybe longer

quote:I took about a week for the water (18") to drain out of my house. B.R. is north of me. I didn't have time to keep up with them but I'd guess 2 weeks for most. The bad news is due to several factors there was a couple of areas around me that had water in their houses for over a month.

Water was in and out of my house in Denham in about 12-24 hours. It came up and went down pretty quick.

Water was gone in a number of places by the following Wednesday.

There were areas off of Bluff looking at a few months before they cut a road

Weeks is correct and people on the low side had water in their houses for well over a month. I lost track.
The Alligator Bayou Rd. hasn't been repaired yet.

That's off by 10 inches for port author.
It only goes to 3:00am this morning.

Can Beaumont/Port Author take the rain crown?

Probably by a good bit too. They might have well over 60 inches when it is done.

I think the rain crown goes to Vidor. If Cantore's tweet is correct they set the record rainfall amount for the lower 48. Missed the overall record set in Hawaii by less than half an inch.
