Sociopaths tend to be nervous and easily agitated. They are volatile and prone to emotional outbursts, including fits of rage. They are likely to be uneducated and live on the fringes of society, unable to hold down a steady job or stay in one place for very long. It is difficult but not impossible for sociopaths to form attachments with others. Many sociopaths are able to form an attachment to a particular individual or group, although they have no regard for society in general or its rules. In the eyes of others, sociopaths will appear to be very disturbed. Any crimes committed by a sociopath, including murder, will tend to be haphazard, disorganized and spontaneous rather than planned.

Aside from holding down a steady job and uneducated, it describes both Hillary and Trump perfectly.

My bibolar psychopathic ex-wife cheated on me (good riddance). Too many short stories of my own; but a good one was the time she ran her vehicle through the bedroom double windows of the home belonging to dude she had cheated with. Talk about laughing my arse off. Also took down a lamp post and a row of hedges during the same event...

The parents of a slain 19-year-old woman filed a wrongful death suit against Kyle Manda, their daughter's convicted killer who was sentenced last week to 67 years in prison. Michael and Brenda Caruso are suing Manda, a member of a well-known Baton Rouge family, for an undetermined amount of money for the March 14 killing of Melissa Caruso. Their attorney, William Lowrey Jr., said the family is just seeking "whatever the law allows" in the "tragic set of circumstances."Manda,... Click here for complete article ($2.95)

The mother of a woman who was shot to death said she is happy that the man who killed "the light" in her life was sentenced Thursday to 67 years in prison. Brenda Caruso, mother of 19-year-old Melissa Caruso, said now Kyle Manda won't be able to hurt somebody else's daughter. "She loved you more than anybody ever loved you in your life," Brenda Caruso told Manda in court Thursday. "I know you are not sorry for what you've done. You do not know the pain we wake up with... Manda's trial to begin today in slaying case
Author: MARLENE NAANES Date: November 14, 2002 Publication: The Advocate (Baton Rouge, La.) Page: 11 A

The murder trial of a member of a well-known Baton Rouge family is scheduled to begin today. Kyle Manda, 23, is set to stand trial for second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Melissa Caruso in March. Manda originally faced a count of first-degree murder, which is punishable by life in prison or the death penalty. Prosecutors reduced the charge Wednesday. Prosecutors Tony Clayton and Wes Hataway said they are sure that if Manda had stood trial for...

I dunno, borderline? Bipolar? Schizoprhenic? There's a lot of mental disorders out there.

A psychopath or sociopath can't feel remorse.

Had a buddy who dated a chick with the crazy eyes. She told my buddy she had a bad breakup with her ex boyfriend due to him finding out she had been arrested before. She didn't tell my friend any details on the arrest until a few weeks later after she had been drinking. Apparently she was arrested because another ex boyfriend had broke up with her so she broke into his apartment and lit his couch on fire while he was sleeping

Last year I had a patient bring in her two sons - both 10 y/o - born in the same year to different dads (Irish twins). The 10 month older one was a bit chubby and slow while the younger one was small and wiry. the mom brought them in for a referral to the child psychiatrist because the school suspended them. The younger psychopath one had convinced the older one to steal an ipad from the school and they got caught.
other things that they admitted to:
drowning neighborhood pets in a pail
breaking windows, starting fires
peeping into girl's windows

this is what they admitted doing - not likely all of it

I fear for what they will turn into if this is what happens at age 10

Yeah that's sad if the sociopath is your son or daughter.

Ultimately nothing is going to ever "fix" them. You just hope whatever personally motivates them is not depraved or illegal.

Psychopath will let you know about it. Sociopath? You're just dead.

Like the Goodfellas line, "Only cops made noise like that. If they'd have been Wiseguys I wouldn't of heard a thing."

Are people, who are diagnosed psychopaths, likely to end up in prison? If not, do they just learn how to adapt to society? And is it possible to have certain stages of being a psychopath? In other words, is it possible for someone to completely lack empathy, feel no guilt, have no emotion towards one aspect of their life, but not in another aspect?

Lotta incorrect information in this thread.

A psychopath/sociopath is simply someone with antisocial personality disorder. Most are not violent, many don't suffer from a lack of empathy and most live relatively normal lives. Antisocial personality disorder is defined as have any three or more of the following traits:

Regularly breaks or flouts the law
Constantly lies and deceives others
Is impulsive and doesn’t plan ahead
Can be prone to fighting and aggressiveness
Has little regard for the safety of others
Irresponsible, can’t meet financial obligations
Doesn’t feel remorse or guilt

It's actually fairly common, it's just that pop culture has essentially made it synonymous with serial killers, comic villains and mass shooters. The reality is you probably work with one and will never know it, or at most view that as strange.

While a good differentiating description doesn't exist, generally psychopaths are those APD individuals who were "born that way" while sociopaths are generally thought to have been "made that way". Psychopaths tend to be more "dangerous" because they are better at hiding their traits and seeming normal.

I'm happily married, but my wife went nutso for about a week two years after our second child. I think it was the stress of not having any help outside of me, no friends, no family, and the period thing. She was a pyschopath for a good week. She would yell and get crazy eyes, then get in her car and drive around for a bit. My kids were crying like crazy. I slept in a different room with the door locked until she returned to "normal." Those were good times. Not!!

We talked it out, she got a part time job, made some friends and things got much better, thank god.

Been there my brother.

Maybe it was some sort of hormonal imbalance or postpartum, but she was a flipping pyschopath for a week or so because of it. I'm happy she returned to "normal" bitches be crazy behavior.
