I was supposed to get a kid last week fresh off a plane from Africa that was vomiting blood. The kid was coming from Ethopia (we get a ton of refugees here in Phx from there). Still....if I would have had that child I would have wrapped myself in plastic and worn every bit of PPE I could find (we don't have hazmat suits on our unit)


Thankfully....that child ended up not coming to our floor. Obviously if they seriously suspected Ebola they wouldn't have just sent them to us "here you go, be careful!"
