Has this even been proven? Why would this virus act differently than every other virus throughout history? If antibodies don’t last forever then this will likely weaken once the population has had it and become another yearly virus around like the common flu strains we see. Any way this is analyzed the government has panicked and overreacted to the threat.

Other Corona viruses have all mutated and eventually disappear. That is another way out. It will just take time, just like achieving herd immunity would.
I just hope it happens sooner rather than later.

I think it's reasonable to think that doctors won't ever really know how long they last in every single person. Even when antibodies wane to a level that's undetectable in the blood there is still evidence that something remains to somewhat fight it. The reason why this thing is so deadly is because it literally has not been in circulation (ever) and the human body has NEVER seen it. Give it a few years and the IFR will be equal or less to that of the flu.

Right. That's the question the left won't answer. Should we collapse the nation in perpetual lockdown waiting for a vaccine that's not coming?
And if we did, what would we accomplish? Save 30k lives that were almost certainly doomed anyway? More will die next year in car accidents.

Now that Sweden has returned to the levels of their neighbors the death rate being elevated is the only sign that experts point to as their method being a failure. Sweden's new case rate has fallen off a cliff.
They point out Sweden's economy did not fair much better than surrounding Nordic countries, but fail to note that Sweden was the only country that had sanctions put on them by their surrounding countries.

I will it’s called history, every pandemic, every epidemic, every viral disease breakout has met its demise by meeting the human immune system, it may take awhile but we are undefeated.

It’s amazing to me people still don’t get why we want to slow the virus down...
OP is right..we are slowing down reaching herd immunity...we are also keeping our hospitals from being over run...but, that might end up happening in some places. I’ll check back in with you then.
