They don’t not think it’s real, lady. They don’t think it is worthy of mass hysteria. They’re moving on with their lives.
It’s been amazing to see how much people are over Covid hysteria in LP compared to everywhere else. There was never much hysteria, outside of the first month, then folks stopped giving a shite. Even old people. The other day while at Oak Point I easily saw nearly a dozen older folks in their late 70s- early 80s with no mask. Half of them could barely walk and moved at a snails pace. I say good for them for not allowing themselves to be crippled with fear.
A lot of the folks here just want to make a living, take care of their family, mind their own business and enjoy life.
I live north of Watson and the biggest problem in this area is the slough of neighborhoods with a couple hundred DR Horton/ cookie cutter homes. This is where most of the trash reside today.
I was born and raised in the LP and I moved back in 2010 after being gone 6 years. Yes, there is an abundance of trash the further south you go in the parish but it’s a good place to live if I’m being honest.
I live in the most NW corner of the parish along the river. I flooded during the great flood of 2016 but other than that, the river never gets near my home even when it’s extremely high.
Some of the stereotypes and legends of this parish is true but the majority is over exaggerated. Not a terrible place to live if you’re trying to stay near the Metro BTR area for work.
