and in this time in our country, depending on the state, all those kids that laid hands on the shithead would be punished for it and face possible lawsuits. There are cases where kids stand up for handicapped students and get suspended for it.

This is why I couldn't teach. In that situation, I don't think I would have the restraint to not stomp that kid's arse. Also, it's impossible to be intimidating while wearing skinny jeans.

The teacher needs to be applauded here he handled that perfectly. There was no use arguing with the kid or yelling at him, he was clearly out of his mind on adrenaline or rounds or both. Tell him to sit down, ignore his tone and don't escalate the situation.

So what do you think should happen in the end? The student get away with it? The teacher walk his punk shitass to the principal? Asking honestly, not in a bad way. I understand the teacher keeping a level head but he should have also picked up a phone and called for the courtesy officer to come get him.

Just my opinion, but I don't think anyone of any other race would've handled it this calm and cool. These older Asian fellas are calm people. As for the kid. He needs a good beaten and then for him to be expelled. Teachers can't do anything back, so there needs to be a hard line of discipline somewhere. Kick him out.

Well I'm a public school teacher and have had similar things happen to me, situations like this are more common than you think (although this particular one is extra bad).
What I do is calmly tell the kid to calm down and that I am hitting the button (which calls for a hall monitor or security guard). While we wait if they stop screaming (which is usually the case) I talk with them calmly about what's going to happen and how they need to not speak to people in that way. If they continue to go nuts I make sure they aren't going to harm anyone or themselves and I ignore them until they are picked up by an officer. If they start to get violent I restrain them but this only happens 1-2 times a year where a kid needs restraint.
Regardless of how the situation goes I ALWAYS seek the kid out later in the office once they are calm and make sure everything is okay with them or try and help them find a better way to release frustration. 9/10 times there's something stupid going on with friends or a gf/bf and the kid just can't control there emotions (I teach 8th graders). As long as they are their consequences once they come back to school I move on and treat them like anyone else. Most kids won't freak out on you once they know they won't get a rose out of you and the only one affected by their tantrum is themselves
