They need to make the cards hot pink, turn on a siren at the top of the register and have it chirp every time someone uses EBT.

There used to be a sense of shame when using the taxpayers money to feed yourself that shame is gone.

they would start filming themselves doing a dance to the siren.

Hugh could get a round in every morning, then head over to the HS and teach the team all 3 of his plays.

Honestly, if I were in his position, this would be something I would be completely open to. you don't have to waste a ton of time with recruiting, you coach, do your job, and go to the house while still drawing a big arse check from Auburn. I hate that we keep paying these dumbass huge payouts but, if I were a coach, I would take my 50 million to the house and go live a nice life.

2. The discussion about the best team ever

It is hard to compare but I don't think they are. Miami will give them hell for what I saw if Miami's defense shows up. Indiana has struggled on teams that keep them in check and grind them on offense. Ohio State by 3, Iowa by 5. But Oregon, who is fast paced, current Alabama (also face paced) get blown out because Indiana is able to throw their offense out of tempo.

I think several of Saban's earlier teams would have beaten Indiana by multiple touchdowns. LSU in 2011 beats them. Even OSU a few years ago.

I love the parity in today's football but I hate the NIL and portal. I think they should reapply the transfer rules that you get a transfer with no penalty if a coaching change occurs but otherwise you have to petition a waiver to play the next year.

I think there should be roster caps on the amount per roster. TT and Texas shouldn't be able to drop 80 million a year driving the prices through the roof.

I think they should sign to multiple year contracts out of high school and if they transfer before the contract is out, the transfer school has to pay a buyout. You want to treat them like pros, then treat them like pros.

What is happening with college football now is that high school recruiting means jack shite except a handful of positions that the kid can come in and contribute immediately. If I were a 3 star kid, with the expansion of scholarships, I would go to the biggest school I can go to out of high school with the best training programs and stay there 1 or 2 years until I got to a level of demand and then enter the portal for a big pay check.

It's funny to me that a guy (or family) that has any connection will not go to Auburn with few exceptions while Auburn is much more open back and forth.

I remember the lineman about 10 years ago that got grey shirted by saban as a 4 star kid because his parents wanted him at Alabama so bad while he had offers from a ton of other schools. It is beaten into them deep.

Man seriously? What a drop off. I’ll try to hit a few people up to see if they have heard anything about this.
The only player that I really would still take and am sad to see go is Deuce Knight. He could be the future and could get some good playing time this year in clean up when we can. He seems built well for Golesh's previous style of offense. Even if we had to pay him a year to be a backup, Texas did it for two years with Manning.

WR is looking pretty solid assuming Singleton comes. I'd still like to add one more top level guy, but that room is pretty good.

If we don't get another receiver, I am absolutely fine with that. It is a deep enough receiver room with the additions and adding Singleton we will be fine.

Have we heard anything on Alvin Henderson? What is our running back situation looking like?

we have to get some trenches on both sides.

She just loves so much. I think I could fix her too.

My ex wife was probably a shittier person and more batshit crazy than this one and I married her.
Remember that the scholarships are up to 105 so you have 30-40 developmental guys. Those are those spots for th young’s guys that weren’t heavy recruited that want to be at Auburn.
I picture that kid with a pancake standing over someone yelling O'Doyle Rules!

Sam Turner coming back.

I really don't think he will be the only one. Knee jerk reactions to losing all the coaches you've been sold on and working with would get you in a panic and then all your friends say they are leaving too? I don't blame a lot of these guys for saying they wanted to look around before committing themselves to the new coaches.

In the end, these guys have to do what is best for them. Some of the guys were probably told to look around and some of the others probably panicked when their buddy was told to.
At this point, why even say how many years of eligibility left? Just say more than one.
I know it is a step up for him to go from USF to Auburn in terms of tradition, but I think it speaks for Golesh that a lot of offense there put up good numbers and want to follow him here. Means that they like him as a coach. I don't think our players would follow Hugh Freeze to another school.

USF backup QB Locklan Hewlett entered the portal. JLee put in a prediction for him to AU

Not thrilled about it but don't hate it for a backup quarterback for now. He has been in with Golesh for a year, his dad is apparently a decent qb trainer himself so the kid is probably smart and has the head for it but may lack the measurable and physical talents of other quarterbacks. I would think it would be a fine get for depth.
Fair enough. Even at like 6’ 230, don’t they call Bynes small in the NFL and not draft him because of measurables? We had some linebacker that was a really smart guy an he didn’t get drafted due to measurables.
And 6’1 205 is tiny. Maybe looking at a safety spot?
Im really curious if these receivers were asked to leave or if they are leaving on their own. If they are leaving on their own, I wonder if Brown commits, if a few of them turn around and come back. 6 receivers leaving is insane with one going to the draft. You are talking about direct line to starting if you stay with very little competition.

Main thing I want to see today is Brown getting on board with a few other USF guys to fill some immediate voids. That will get it rolling in our direction.

You are Golesh and the roster just emptied. Most of the guys leaving are talent. Like it or not., we are losing guys who could play. How do you go to the portal and start convincing guys to come? How do you explain what happened and convince new talent that coming to Auburn is going to be a good choice?

you get a few of your guys on board as early as possible when the portal opens. That means Brown is in the door on Friday and a couple receivers with him. those guys are helping to recruit and bring others with them.
quote:

2 million to a backup QB to sit that is pure potential/ no substance while we penny pinch on OL and DL

And we are supposed to pretend that strategy is sound

I don't hate this strategy honestly. The problem is that you pay him 2 mil to sit but no guarantee he will be here after the next portal. I think he could be that good to invest in him but he has to have people blocking competently in front of him.

At the end of the day, you have to score points to win games. We proved that with Kentucky this year. If you score 3, you will lose every game. The days of shutouts are done and they are far and few between, even against smaller schools.

I wouldn't be shocked, if we get Brown, that we take another young quarterback that fits the physical mold that Golesh wants in the portal to take that backup role they wanted for Deuce.

I don't think we will replace Coleman for talent level but I think we will get just as much production out of whoever we bring in as we would Coleman.

The biggest thing is for us to have a winning season next year. This is much easier said than done though as our schedule might be the toughest schedule, on paper, in the history of football. top three teams in the SEC (all in playoffs), 5th in the SEC (tied), and a team that will be in much better shape next year in LSU. A winning season will be a great start for Golesh in my eyes.
