Freedom doesn't scare me. If it bothers you that much your best bet is to just buy acreage in the country. Once you get enough land between you and your "neighbors", you ARE the neighborhood

Exactly why I would never live in an HOA. frick that noise. I couldnt imagine some a-hole telling me I cant plant a certain flower in my front of my house, or what color shutters have to be, or my grass needs cutting, I cant own a dog over 50lbs etc.
If anyone has problems in an HOA, its because they signed up for it.

A few years ago, our neighbor planted several fake foxtail ferns in some big urns by her front door. They were expensive and looked as real as anything you've ever seen.
HOA Nazis walked to her front door when she was not home and pulled them out and just left them on the ground.
She sued in various ways and the lady responsible had to pull her kids out of school because all of the backlash. This is a great topic, I have always wondered what goes on within the minds of folks who are part of the HOA board, they seem to have no boundaries and don't give a s*** about anybody else's property but their own

In Louisiana they can do a HoA Foreclosure on your property.....
