Science in all of its forms is a means to observe and learn from all that God created. Why would anyone turn away from creation based on a made-up claim that God doesn't want us to see it? That's lunacy and it goes against what God has placed in front of us to observe and study.
Establishment "Science" became perverted and corrupt; the problem their primary agenda is in trying to discredit the God of Creation.
On an individual basis, there ARE many sincere Scientists; they just can't get their researched "peer reviewed" or validated given Establishment Science has an agenda, ergo the system is rigged (yes like politics. Science = Politics.)

Uh-oh. Have I upset all the Evo-Atheists and Pagan sock-puppets?

Genesis isn't even the oldest book in the bible.

I only wish you had gotten in this thread sooner.

1) Trust and believe GOD, the record of Creation, and the RECORDED genealogy of Adam ---> Jesus Christ? 2) Trust and believe MAN, and his history of manufactured theories, corruption, lying, hoaxing, subverted agendas, virtually trying to kill God in order to make himself "God" instead?
1) should read: trust and believe GOD, whose truth was written down by MAN, who has a history of manufactured theories, corruption, lying, hoaxing, subverted agendas

Do you actually believe the Smithsonian plays it straight?
Research the Royal Society of Science and their role in "history" and science". OR DON'T.
What the hell does the Smithsonian have to do with anything?
Present your evidence for a young earth. Non-Bible, non-Answers in Genesis, verifiable, peer-reviewable evidence.

I do get that angle. And you are right in general. EXCEPT:
Scripture tells us The Holy Spirit spoke through special, chosen men / prophets to speak on behalf of God.
If you can find one single lie in the Bible, bring it.
Now if you are not a Bible / God believer, none of this matters.

quote:You have completely dismissed the facts that we know about half-lives, and that we have multiple other methods of dating and cross-checking samples, and that everything we have ever discovered about the earth points to it being billions of years old, and that the incentive to prove it young is enormous and would make that person wildly famous yet no one has come close.
Do you have an actual constructive debate point or position to make regarding the age of the Earth?
So no, I don't have anything to say to you.

Not even to mention that most of the bible was written in an ancient language with something like 10% of the words we have now, translated to other languages several times before being translated to English.
I grew up Catholic and 100% understand believing in the Spirit of the words in the book. There are a lot of things in the Bible that our society could really use right now.
Believing the literal word is just nonsense.

No answer.
Answer the question. Present your verifiable, peer-reviewable evidence.
It doesn't even have to actually have been peer-reviewed. Just something that CAN be.
Let's hear it.
Or...not.

I wouldn't expect hurtful, ad hominem attacks from a supposed devout Christian.
I guess maybe you haven't read the Bible quite carefully enough?

The 4 Gospels contradict each other completely a multitude of times.

Four "witnesses" ALWAYS have a slightly different account of the SAME event or quote, don't they?
That said, there are actually ZERO contradictions. (if would you like to cite one, have at it.)
