Not a new move for Republicans to trample on states rights, but rarely do you see it celebrated as much.

frickin awful. Gimme DST all year if we have to pick one.
Honestly I am a-ok with the current system.

TSD is strong with this one.
Btw, standard time now, as you should know. It’s dark before 6:15.
Who gives a shite what month is, keep the time on standard

Don MEANT to say he wanted to get rid of standard time, but confused the two (as many have done in this thread).
My hope as well. And yea, seems quite a few in here don't know the difference

My ol pawpaw never changed his clocks. Time change just meant mass time changed.

I am good with standard time all year. It is the change between the two that I dislike.

If you look at the post I quoted, yes. I hope for the posters sake it was satire, but the comment was “less daylight”, which changing times didn’t matter

So, why not keep it on DST permanently? Who would actively want it getting darker sooner in the afternoons? Since we have the ability to pick one or the other based on whichever time setting we settle on, why wouldn't you go with the one that gives longer daylight in the evenings?

Believe me, this time of the yesr (standard time) sucks for me because I go to work in the dark and leave in the dark, but if I’m doing a fishing trip, I’ll adjust.

Alcoholics and nonsocials like it to get dark early so they can start drinking earlier or not feel pressure to interact with other human beings

No, but it changes when daylight is up based on time. Sunset is 5:13pm today where I live. If it was DST, sunset would be at 6:13pm. Does that make it easier for your to understand?

It isn't even close. Or maybe you just stopped reading after a few words and purposefully left out this part:
quote:
Why would anyone support less daylight throughout the year when you get home from work?
Which he is 100% correct on. If we eliminate the switch to DST, then there will be less daylight throughout the year in the evenings. How do you not understand that?
If, on the other hand, we set the clocks back to DST and leave it there permanently, there will be more daylight in the evenings yrear-round.
