Damn Irma near florida

Don't bring that bad karma this way let that shite hit Mexico. After Matthew right off our coast last year I just hope Irma doesn't hit the US at all.

BTW... Looking at what I am seeing.... The EAST Coast of the States will get hammerd by Irma........

So this means it will turn out to sea or go into the GOM.

While large uncertainty in possible track of Hurricane #Irma not much doubt that storm will be massive Category 4 or 5 for a long while.

That graphic you posted from Weather Bell is 36 hours old at this point, FYI.

Almost certainly a healthy Cat 5.

I think we've seen the basic forecast is good for the next week or so. After that, it's a crapshoot the nature of the trough digging into the eastern US and what that'll do.

Define "good."

This the most recent loop, but it isn't exactly a good thing.

ETA: Irma is currently in the coolest waters she's expected to traverse over the next 10 days, and she still looks like this.

So is the forecast that coastal Georgia is fricked? Because I just finished repairs from the last hurricane a few weeks ago.

Oh boy Slack, that eyewall replacement is clearly done. It's limited by relatively cooler water now, but that's going to not be the case in a day or two.

GFS suggests it might pull in some dry mid level air tonight into tomorrow.
