Lots of looting going on now (specifically sneakers and TVs). Of course they won't talk about their ethnicity.

Still have power here at my house...it's been flickering though. Crossing my fingers.

Trees down all over the place in Columbia.

In in North Georgia. We lost power for about an hour early this morning. I think it could have been a wreck or something. The wind was not even that bad. Been raining all day with some decent winds but about an hour ago, it got a little more serious. Id say its blowing 25-35 with lots of rain right now. Looks like we will be out of the bad stuff around 9pm

Just saw on liz's fb someone commenting that they spoke to Liz this am (says it was daytime). Said she is ok, her house is ok, just a lot of water in the streets around them.

Baws are cranking up the Stihls and making it happen. Many places here are still flooded so I imagine they are still screwed down there

5 of my 6 neighbors been running chainsaws all day. Ain't nobody got time to wait for the city or tree services. My area is cleaning up quick, but there are 10 foot high debris piles lining the street now.

would be very happy and surprised if all of the bridges remained intact.

i worry more about those skinny little stretches of A1A where you have water about 8 feet on either side of you

This seems to be much worse than Matthew last year regarding flooding in Charleston.

I'm getting updates by radio and they said the flooding is perhaps 3rd in recorded history for us. Higher than Matthew but lower than Hugo.

They did report, while Cantore was in Fort Meyer, that a cell tower in north Naples went down yesterday. Possibly the tower that services Liz's area.

Choot em. This is the only scenario that warrants a warning shot via 12 gauge.

ETA: Cantore is such a fricking tool.

if you dont let them in, they wont leave next time, and thats a fact

Reports of food being short, search and rescue on going, possible damage to bridges on the road in and out, and no running water.

And the logic is they wont leave next time because they can't get back in a day after?

For people that act like that, let them stay next time and don't risk injury getting them out. They'll be crying for food and water soonest, maybe even a/c.

Any photos or vid coming out of key west/florida keys...I'm rather surprised to not have seen any given it took Irma head on.

A1A still standing?

Power came back on a couple of hours ago.

The storm wasn't anything special. I've been through much worse in Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Hope everyone in Florida are safe.

It's a question of how soon they can realistically get more in. They don't want to add to the population until they can get boats and trucks and enough helos bringing supplies in. It's a wide area to cover.

Exactly. After Katrina you had people wailing that they "were starving!"
You knew the storm was coming on Monday. Presumably you had SOMETHING to eat. People forced to the Dome and Convention Center weren't getting 3 squares a day, maybe even nothing, but by Thursday or Friday they were evacuated. So MAYBE they went 3, possibly 4 days without food.

After countless news interviews with people who claimed to be starving, my uncle, who spent almost five years in Nazi occupied Holland said, "Those people were hungry, not starving. They don't know anything about starvation."

That about sums it up for me.
