I love how all of these "experts" in car buying use these tricks as if the dealer has never seen them before. They sell thousands of cars per year and the smart guys buy one every few years.

You're not trying to get the best deal ever because no one knows what that is due to dealer cost, incentives, hold back, volume. You're trying to get the best deal you can live with. The dealer will always make a profit or they wouldn't be in business.
You sound like a sleazy car salesman and if [you] they weren't so sleazy, no one would have to play these games.

I am not a sales person of any kind. I just find it funny. Don't get mad if you are one of those people. Do what you must.

There’s an online service called Authority Auto that guarantees that if they cannot beat the best deal you come up with, you pay nothing. You’re left knowing you got a great deal. But if they can get you a better deal in your market, you split the savings with them, which is still a great deal for you.
I recently bought my wife a car, but she wanted a custom build. The dealership I visited did not have one like it and could not find one exactly like it in the State of Texas. The closest dealer with that exact build was in Florida. They claimed the cost of transportation would exceed the cost of custom building one to have it shipped from overseas. So we built and negotiated on the custom build. I then contacted the Florida dealership and got them to agree to a price lower than my custom build. My local dealer then agreed to beat that price with their custom build.
I then sent that offer sheet to the business linked above. By the next day, they had another dealer that beat the best price I was able to negotiate by a thousand. I paid half for their service. I then used that best offer with my local dealer and they agreed to beat it.
No stress, minor haggling. Only 1 visit to a dealership. I could not be happier with this service

It's just your money.
Just let them all 5 know the best deal wins the business and sit back and watch it happen.

First of all, great 6th post. But Idk what you talking ab baw, very happy with my 2018 Ford Explorer XLT. Runs great and haven’t had any problems yet. Used to have one ten years ago that was also a beast, which is what prompted me to return to the model. What you grippin and rippin around in big cheese?

Hey sorry I’m like two weeks late. The fit and finish is awful, it’s designed to be cheap get destroyed as a fleet vehicle or rental which is fine.
I drive a civic si sedan. It’s cheap and gets 34 highway for the commute, but has a 6speed And LSD for those backroads.
Feel free to rip me, just saying.

This thread shows why almost everything we buy is made in China.
