I thought you used a pitching machine at that age?

what is it, like 3 strikes then you get the tee?

Chad'll be OK. He's just gotta work on his fundamentals.

That, and sneak a emery board into his back pocket.

Pitching machine starts at 7 years old here in FL.

5-6 year olds play "tee ball" but the coaches and leagues all want to really play coach pitch.

They get two swings then the tee. The swings are hideous and it shows when they move up an age group.

I will still never understand why adult males feel it's necessary to pitch to 4 and 5 year olds.
When my sons played it was tee ball for 5/6 then coach pitch for 7/8. The kids pitch started at 9 which was a debacle. 99% of the runs scored were walks and wild pitches.

So you pitch until they strike out, then you put it on a tee? The tee should come with a castration attachment, then. Bet that would thin the "look at my kid" herd.

We didn't have fences on one tball field. My kid was driving it into the woods on a couple bounces. That's when I knew Travel Ball was the way to prepare him for D1 college ball. In machine pitch, he took out a windshield. Then they cracked down on the hot bats.
He still hits the piss out of the ball, he just doesn't hit it out every 3rd or 4th AB now. Kinda like LSU...

As a seasoned T-ball pitcher, I can tell you that the secret is to learn your kids swing and pitch it where you know the bats going to be when they swing.

This is true. You have to aim at the bat for most of them.

its t ball league. 4-6 year olds. In games, you pitch to them 3-4 times, if they foul, they get another pitch. If no hit, you break out Tee for them.

problem is kids that can't swing and reach, do a hack downward real close to body, really hard to get good pitches without nailing their kid.

That's pretty much the only thing about batting that you can teach at that age. Leveling out their swing. Hitting off a tee at practice will help that.

frick that. You throw high heat right in front of their faces or a curve right at their heads that breaks down and away at the last moment.

Find out early which ones have the marbles. Travel ball isn't for pussies, yo.
