They expect us to believe it was just remarkable coincidence that she bought heavily into work from home based tech such as Citrix?
If what her and the others were doing wasn’t questionable or possibly illegal...then why not advise and update your constituents to do the same?

Was it really insider information though? The alarm bells were ringing pretty loudly late January/early February. Most people just didn’t want to listen.

I'm so-so on Trump, but I'd love it if he called this a-hole out. He ran on draining the swamp, this due should not be holding an elected position after this.

She already came out and said their entire portfolio was being managed by an advisor, without their knowledge.

Aren't senators/congressmen immune to insider trading?
No, One was recently indicted and resigned his seat for it. Collins from New York.
Before he became VP, I believe Joe Biden was the only Senator that didn’t directly own any stock, though his wife does. He still doesn’t I don’t think.

Because the information that was discussed in the closed door meeting wasn’t made public at the time.
God damn you’re dumb

I’d take anything Trump says on this with a grain of salt until he releases his financial holdings. It wouldn’t shock me in the least if he wasn’t himself doing the same damn thing.

Been going on forever.
I remember when Pelosi was young-ish during Reagan years she through her husband made millions off some awarded contracts that hubby bought up the stock cheap just before the contract announced.
DiFi has also been doing it for decades with her husband the arms merchant. Ammo and weapons contracts awarded to his companies and trades based on the advanced knowledge.
And yeah the Repubs do it too, just seems to be more lifelong Dems than Repub actively in Congress.
This is why we need to be more mindful of we as voters send to D.C. and retain through further votes. These are the people that write the laws, of course it will be legal for them to do it.
Reminds me of the OK State Senator that got caught with a trunkload of pot one night in one of those rural speedtrap towns. Next session of the state govt. he proposed a new law making it legal for elected officials.

I'm not sure what to do in this type of situation. On the one hand, it's clear he got information ahead of the public and profited from it. On the other, it's part of his job that offers him this info. What is he supposed to do, just sit on his stocks that are about to plummet?
I'm not sure what is right or a way to prevent it from happening other than those in office not being allowed to be involved in the market.

He’s got an R next to his name; no one here cares what he did. The only thing that would upset anyone here is if he didn’t expend enough time and effort on executing the governing strategy of owning the libs. As long as this angers some libs, what’s the problem?

Both parties have done this for years. Look at folks like Pelosi, Watters, etc. Their net worth is in the tens of millions since they came to DC.
Yeah, Joe just sells his influence for his family, so it is all good. I know you can't wait to pull the lever for that brain dead retard in November. He's one of the good guys. LOLOLOLOLOL

I wouldn’t be shocked to learn that most, if not every, person in that meeting did the same thing. She’s just the only one we’re hearing about.

Would you want the same for Nancy

Pelosi is implicitly charged with getting improper treatment from Visa during their 2008 IPO, then the largest of all time. The following is Sunday's "60 Minutes’ "lead in to the segment on Pelosi. The speaker is Peter Schweizer, whose investigation into stock trading on Capitol Hill is featured in the "60 Minutes" report:
quote:
"60 Minutes" reports that Pelosi bought 5,000 shares of Visa at $44 each on March 18. (To put that into context, Pelosi’s net worth in 2009 - she’s married to real estate investor and venture capitalist Paul Pelosi - was $21.7 million.) Pelosi spent roughly $220,000 (excluding trading costs) on the Visa IPO.

And this is exactly the defense they will use to get away with this crime. Your dumbass just lost 30% of your retirement because they downplayed this crisis and sold millions and told their wealthy friends to sell which substantially exacerbated this crash and you're defending their actions. Think about that. All those hours worked and money saved in what should have been a reasonably safe investment and it's being undermined by criminals who are supposed to be representing your interests in congress. Keep defending them. They will happily piss away your retirement money on themselves while you struggle in retirement.
