I don't understand people who don't understand that it still saves calories. Fat people can slow their rate of fattiness by making a sacrifice somewhere, I guess.

I'd rather eat tofu for every meal than drink diet coke, but some people may go the other way.

A regular coke in the sizes usually served by fast food restaurants is probably 400-500 calories.

I get that. I drink maybe two soft drinks a year. Used to drink like 5 or 6 diet cokes a day. In 2010 I weighed 195. Stopped soft drinks and didn't change anything else in my eating or drinking. Lost 25 pounds in less than a year.

Spring 2013, I started walking and eating somewhat healthy. Down to 156, no change in alcohol consumption and eat what I want during the weekend.

Diet drinks make you crave sugar because your brain thinks you're getting it with the drink, but you're not. I think diet drinks are the lesser of two evils. I used to drink way too many, but I still love sugar free Red Bull, so I'll have one 12 oz can a week.

Why not order a regular Coke or a good ole Dr. Pepper?

Because full sugar soft drinks are so ungodly syrupy & sweet they are nauseating. Wtf do you care what people order? ... You sound like joy to be around.

They don't. Sitting on one's fast arse all day does. When was the last time you heard "man, you need to lay off the colas".

I always get bottled water. Don't care for most sodas.

There is a lot of dumbness in this thread. Amazing how gullible people are these days.

No science. Stop moving, stop eating. Move, eat. Now that's common sense.

Yea, that's true. It's also true that refined sugars spike insulin levels in the blood which leads to more fat storage. Science. So, yea, you can be totally fit and healthy and eat a shite ton of sugar, but the odds are against you and it will probably catch up to you eventually. It's no secret that obesity sky rocketed in the 80's with the advent of "low fat" (and twice the sugar) "diet foods".

I just love the way people put down bottled water because "what comes out of the tap is the same thing" which is total bullshite.
If you wanna drink the shite water that comes out of a tap, have at it.

Just don't be a fricking a-hole about it.

Same here. Coke is just way too sweet for me. I also like unsweetened tea

Let's see, this diet coke ordering stuff at a fast food restaurant bothers me so much I'm gonna go on the OT Lounge and broadcast it. Perhaps, a lot of my fellow OT'ers will think how witty I am for the observation and give me a huge UP vote. Or, perhaps, not.

Huh? Not discussing water. But since you brought it up, I am not a big water drinker so tap water is fine by me. Do you know where the water in those bottles come from?

Oh, my remark was not meant to be directed to you, I actually agreed with your sense of choice and the comment was about other post being made here.
