So your data on fuel mileage, which is better than the half ton 5.3, and on longevity of the vehicles which is counter to every bit of data reported online is your basis. Got it.
The payload difference between my 3/4 ton and the equivalent trim gasser is 300 lbs btw.

Its real data from a big fleet of service trucks. You dont have to believe it vs your sample size of one. You are wrong though. If you were right, fleets would be buying 3/4 ton diesels and they overwhelmingly do not.
You can argue that grossed at 26k the diesel will win a drag race vs the gas, because it will, by a lot. How much money is that worth to you?

From one fleet of service trucks.
I've seen 2 fleets that went to gassers around 2020 and they are slowly converting back to diesel. The durability and fuel costs are not as anticipated, one is a Chevy fleet the other is ram.

GM, Ford or Toyota.
Saw an HD 2500 Z R2 at Sams yesterday.
Black with a red Chevway badge.
6.6 gasoline
Allson transmission.
Drop dead gorgeous.

Yea they been running the same buttons and knobs since 2015……

The seats suck! Like sitting on a bag of cement. Only thing new is the screen in the middle.
Hard to fine a High Country with brown interior.
Sorry ma’am. Maybe your husband can get you a nice Range Rover?

No not even close. Just got out of a GM and went back to Ford……

I’m in a Ram 2500 Bighorn as a rental right now. Not a bad truck but dear god it blows through some gas.

I’ve had my 24 Chevy 2500 with the 6.6 gas burner for almost 2 years now. I’ve had zero problems with it. Gas mileage sucks but that is expected. Tows my 36 foot trailer with race car with no problems.

How is the 6.8 holding up?

Ford. There is a reason that is the #1 truck oil & gas workers use in west Texas (by far)

After several minutes of intense googling, I think I may change my answer from GMC to Ram.
Not because the Ram is better. But because the crew cab standard box Ram is a shade under 20’ while the GMC is over 20’.
My workshop garage bay is 20’ and I like to use it for parking.

2013 f250 diesel, high pressure fuel pump went out, $15,000 to replace fuel pump.

Dayum.
Some models of the Powerstroke uses a fuel injector system that releases shrapnel into the engine when it fails. I guess that might have contributed to that insane cost?

No sharpnel in the engine. They have to remove the cab to get to the pump, very labor intensive job.

Why do you need a 3/4 to? Few people do. It really only exists to have a 10,000 lb GVWR for commercial purposes. Otherwise, 3/4 ton is a bastard slot. 3/4 ton diesel even more so.
Some people have nice boats but can't afford marina fees.
