Well this is unbiased.

OP: Go to an independent agent and have them shop around.

Your State Farm agent works for State Farm.

A Allstate agent wouldn't work for you, he/she works for Allstate.

An independent agent actually is YOUR agent.

Is anyone in your family former military? USAA has great pricing and the service is outstanding.

My grandfather was navy but he just passed. Could I only qualify while he was alive or does that not matter?

I'm with SF right now and looking to switch as well.

Got into an accident a few months ago in a roundabout, and the officer on the scene confirmed that the other driver was at fault. I had to do everything for SF -- filed the claim with the other driver's insurance company, followed up with them, and had to call repeatedly to get them to do their jobs. My agent calls me asking if everyone's okay, and when I said yes and wanted to get down to details she's like "uh, you're going to have to call our national claims number." Thanks for nothing.

They acted like they had this concierge service that would do everything for me, but they didn't do a damn thing and I kept having to follow up with them. Then when I finally got an insurance claims guy on the phone to give a statement and discuss, he basically just made excuses for the other driver saying "well these roundabouts, nobody knows what's going on, whadaya gonna do." I was livid.

We've been with them for two decades but we're switching.

I think you should still qualify. I'd definitely give them a call.

I call BS. Just renewed my house insurance. Called many companies. Everybody was 3-4 hundred dollars more for same plan and that includes Allstate.

Call GEICO at 1-800-342-9070 for a quote, and give them my referral code: 170235.

If you have a old policy with a company generally they are hard to beat, regardless of who you are with.

I have liberty mutual, but everyone raises rates every year. I just call my local rep, and he gets them adjusted back down.

Go to an independent agent and get some quotes from various insurers.
